News for giving me the chance to make it clear the Tories roadsides signage & parking tickets are their own invention:

With schools opening next week, it’s unbelievable that the Govt has made a condition of funding
@TfL
that the under-18 travel passes are scrapped. Nothing like this imposed on any other transport operator anywhere else.

Wrong. We weren’t invited in, just presented with a “final offer” by the Tories after they stitched it up with the Greens. After 5 years of working closely I did not see the Green Tories coming
Greens, like the grown ups we are, joined negotiations for allocations of roles in the London Assembly to maximise the power that a Green vote has. Labour chose to sit them out, seemingly so that they could tweet photos of Greens sat in a room with Tories. Absolute children.
Great to see my mate

tonight - an inclusive Mayor for a diverse city, who has always sought to unite not divide our great city
Given revelations, which have been confirmed by Conservative Central HQ, that a party took place last year on 14th December, I’ve written to Shaun Bailey asking for answers - & asking him to step down as Police Committee Chair
The Tory Leader of Wandsworth has refused to publicly apologise for his tasteless joke about suicide.
Me and
@AngelaRayner
have written to the Tory Party Chair asking for action. Suicide is no laughing matter - especially with the devastation that has hit families this year.
Privilege to be invited to the unveiling of the 3rd

Shaun Bailey does not deserve a peerage, nor should he remain as an Assembly Member. This is an insult to all of us who obeyed the rules in London in December 2020, didn’t see loved ones, including some who died
NEW: Conservative activists filmed dancing at a Christmas party during Covid restrictions in 2020 were invited to what was described as a "Jingle and Mingle" -- the BBC has seen the invite
I don’t know why it endlessly surprises me when the Wandsworth Tories vote against giving street cleaners & other frontline contractors the basic dignity of the

If you compare and contrast now to last June, when the first lockdown was lifted, we have six times as many patients in London hospitals, and eight times as many patients on ventilators.
It's absolutely essential we properly suppress the virus before lockdown is lifted.
For the last 5 years Labour has supported the LibDem office financially, to enable Caroline to operate effectively as a single member. So for LibDens to now do a deal with the regressive Tories was frankly a shock. We supported her chairing Transport. She has now supported them
@LeonieC
@LondonAssembly
What?! A member of one party talking to another?! Is it love?! 💕
Sorry Leonie, I thought you were better than that. You were chatting to me and
@LibDems
at the count. It’s important for ALL parties to be civil and work in the interest of the people. Please stop being childish.
Good to see the
@EveningStandard
covering my call for Bailey to step down: Shaun Bailey faces calls to resign from Assembly role over lockdown party allegation
LONDON: I cannot say this more strongly: we must stop all non-essential use of public transport now.
Employers: please support your staff to work from home unless it's absolutely necessary.
Ignoring these rules means more lives lost.

London is delivering the highest number of council homes since the 1970s, and double the rest of the country combined.
I pledged to start building an ambitious 20,000 new council homes by 2024. We've smashed that target - a whole year early. 🏠
So chuffed to see

Oh come on. I’ve had photos I’ve posed for publicly released, that doesn’t mean that very personal, private letters I’ve sent must be published in the papers

The Government tasked local & regional authorities with cleaning up the air. We have a public health emergency. London’s Mayor,
@SadiqKhan
is right to make the tough choice to expand
#ULEZ
- & support Londoners with many forms of help, including scrappage, retrofit etc
Not true. They jointly decided a 3-year between themselves and presented a final offer. We’ve always respected them & chatted through ideas. Never presented a final offer. How anyone can support Tories chairing Transport? Let alone so-called progressive air quality campaigners
@JoanneMcCartney
The proposal would have allowed Labour to chair five committees, the Conservatives four, Greens one and the Liberal Democrats one in the first year of this administration.
At the 11th hour, Labour decided to walk away from any agreement and refused to chair any Committees.
NEW: We've now reached a TfL deal with the Government. Here's what it means for Londoners:
✅ Free travel for under-18s & over-60s is protected
✅ Congestion Charge Zone will not be extended
✅ TfL fares won’t increase by more than what’s already agreed
The PM’s announcement today is bad for the climate, bad for business & bad for Londoners. The future of our planet depends on us taking action
#DoingNotDelaying
Worth reading. And compared to paying for Sky, Netflix, Disney etc, the content we get for the licence fee is dead cheap, as well as way more diverse and - well, classy. Hence we sell so many formats to other countries, they admire the BBC too!
IMPORTANT: My message to Londoners:
➡️ Do not leave home unless you have a very good reason.
➡️ Do not go to work or use public transport, unless you do a critical job.
Ignoring these instructions will cause more people to die.

Great canvass of the Henry Prince Estate in support of

for Mayor and
@LeonieC
for London Assembly Member. Tremendous support for both candidates.
#ToxicAir
kills 4,000 Londoners every year & the Mayor is doing something about it. You & the other Assembly Conservatives should be ashamed of yourselves, you don’t care about Londoners dying early, children’s lungs being stunted or people suffering poor lung & heart health
Sadiq Khan benefits from people not paying attention to his actions. When people do watch Mayor’s Question Time or look at his policies in detail it’s pretty clear what a dreadful Mayor of London he has been. Yesterday was a new low for him.

One-to-one support is vital in helping survivors of sexual and domestic violence secure justice. The £4.3m in funding I’ve announced today means services will be kept open and lives will be saved. Earlier I spoke to
@BBCLondonNews
from the London Survivors Gateway Hub.
The PM managed to create only 3 social rented homes in his last year as Mayor of London. He’s now announced changes to the Planning system that mean developers can produce endless rabbit hutches without constraint

What on earth are Wandsworth Tories doing?
1. The LTNs are their own scheme and not imposed
2. They said they were reviewing them as they went along but now announce a review
3. Announcing council policy but on the party website?
4. They should ‘review’ the West Putney LTN too

You said above that Greens were working with Tories to block Labour. That’s not true. Positions are allocated proportionally. And Labour chose not to involve itself in the discussions of who exactly goes in each position. That’s their decision.
Thursday 2nd May is the Mayoral and London Assembly elections.
And if you're in West Putney Ward, there is also a Councillor by-election.
Make sure you're registered to vote by 16th April:
So much support for

Disgraceful Motion from Greater London Authority Tories, trying to get rid of the Commission for Diversity in the Public Realm. Unbelievable that the Tory Mayoral candidate is 2nding this Motion. How can any Londoner, let alone one who want to be our Mayor, not support diversity?
Totally agree. Pretty bored with
@AndyBurnhamGM
constant London-bashing. I’ve admired his standing up for Manchester, but so tedious he always opposes Manchester to London. Lots of people in both cities need help. Why can’t he say that?
JUST ANNOUNCED: Emergency free holiday meals for Londoners in need throughout the school holidays, starting this Easter.
The cost of living crisis is hitting Londoners hard. This significant funding from City Hall will help ease the pressure on families.
Keir Starmer was clear: the next Labour Gov will embark on a green transformation to address the climate crisis whilst changing lives for the better!
The commitment to a just & fair transition is central to Labour’s plan to build a greener fairer future for the UK's communities.
I called for him to resign as Police & Crime Cttee Chair, he eventually did. I asked the Police to investigate, they now are. If he’s lied? Enough is enough. Resign as an AM: Top Tory Shaun Bailey didn't bail early on Xmas party, he was there until 10pm
