There are many amazing elements to the Alternative Miss World exhibition, including these incredible royal robes created by Andrew Logan that hang from our ceiling. You are able to see the incredible detail and scale of the costumes right before your eyes.

Daniel Lismore attended Alternative Miss World for the first time in 2018. He is an artist, fashion designer and club host. Logan’s mirrored portraits are created by painting onto the back of the glass, a process which he describes as like painting in reverse.

In 1972, Andrew Logan hosted a party at his studio in Hackney that began Alternative Miss World. The party guests dressed up as contestants in an alternative beauty pageant and were judged on the same criteria as the dogs in Crufts – originality, poise, and personality.

Molly Parkin was a socialite and fashion journalist whose work at the iconic magazine ‘Nova’ placed her at the heart of swinging London in the sixties. She struck up a friendship with Andrew and was the first co-host of Alternative Miss World. #AlternativeMissWorld
