Would you look at that: A flat earther using an edited photo to support their claim that space travel is fake. Here is a thread about this meme. (1/20)
I love when moon landing deniers/flat earthers post this meme because it shows just how little research they actually do. Here is a thread about this meme. (1/9)
It would do very poorly submerged in water because it is a spacecraft that is designed to operate in the vacuum of space, where the external pressure is 0 bar.
Neil Armstrong was the person who took that photograph of Buzz Aldrin descending the Lunar Module. If you really cared about the truth and researched the topic, you would have learned that.
Richard Gordon took that photo of the Lunar Module, called Intrepid, while he stayed in Low Lunar Orbit inside the Command Module, Yankee Clipper. The photo was taken after separation of the two spacecraft but before landing on the lunar surface.
You are a straight up liar. Both of those photos are from Apollo 11 Magazine 44/V. The Apollo 12 earthrise photos show a crescent earth. Looks like you are unable to do even basic research about the moon landings.
The plane in the bottom image, the X-59, is not designed to fly at 9,400 KPH. It's max speed is believed to be around 1,500 KPH. Also, the X-59 has not flown yet, so that image on the bottom is just a render. It was specifically built to fly at supersonic speeds quietly.
The Apollo Program used the Saturn V to send astronauts to the moon via the Trans Lunar Injection burn, or TLI. The Lunar Module was just part of the payload on the third stage of the Saturn V. After TLI, the Command Module turned around and grabbed the Lunar Module. (2/9)
The only time the meme could be considered remotely accurate was for Apollo 13, where the LM was used as a lifeboat to help get the crew safely back to the earth. Here is a great video about Apollo 13. (9/9)
Once the CM and LM were near the moon, the CSM performed a retrograde burn to slow it down to enter Low Lunar Orbit. Prior to landing, two of the three astronauts, (Commander and LM Pilot,) would enter the LM and undock with the CM. (3/9)
Flat earthers cannot even deduce Newton's Laws of Motion. Also, if what he says is true, (It's not) why did the SR-71 fly near its top speed where the air was much thinner? Since there was less air, it should have generated less thrust.
Gee, it's almost as if the top image is simply an aid to see the position of satellites. Do flat earthers really think NASA is claiming to launch satellites that are larger than cities?
It sure is weird how you can find the exact same photo with just the crane and ISS missing. That is because the photo was edited by adding the crane and ISS. (2/20)
When it was time to leave the surface, the two astronauts took off in the Ascent Stage of the LM. This was done in stages because the descent stage was about 2/3rds of the total weight of the LM. (5/9)
After separation, the LM performed a powered descent to land on the lunar surface. This was done by using the engine attached to the Descent Stage of the LM. (4/9)
After liftoff, the Ascent Stage met up with the CM that was still in Lunar Orbit. The crew then transferred the lunar samples from the LM to the CM. After the transfer was complete, the LM was undocked from the CM and left there to eventually crash into the moon. (6/9)
This is the fifth time I have seen a flerf post footage from Avaitions101's video of them flying in Denali National Park, Alaska as evidence for the ice wall. They also mirrored it and lowered the resolution.
Next, the used the engine on the Command Service Module (CSM) to leave Lunar Orbit on a trajectory that would have them return to earth. Prior to reentry, the CSM separated from the CM. (7/9)
That filming location is also not a NASA filming site, but a set that was being built for Iron Man 2. Specifically it is one of the sets used in the film for the Stark Expo. (3/20)
Balloons cannot travel at hypersonic speeds.
NASA is a governmental organization and SpaceX is a private company where Elon owns like half the company.
In 2023, NASA received 25.4 billion dollars, which equates to 3.18 dollars per person. So no, you could not feed the planet.
In conclusion, flat earthers seem to love to post verifiably false memes and then refuse to provide any citations for said memes because that would debunk their claims. (20/20)
You are the 23rd person I have seen make this specific Wikileaks claim since late November, and the mythical Wikileaks link still does not exist. Something tells me you are lying.
Don't you love it when flat earthers accidentally post evidence that the earth is a globe? That post shows the orbits of planets and the sun with a geocentric model. Meaning the earth would still be a globe in that model.
It sure is weird how flat earthers confuse renderings for actual photos. All of these images are artist's illustrations/renderings. Here is a thread showing citations for all of these illustrations. (1/7)
This is a great case study of how disinformation is engineered… This particular post has been shared thousands of times, on social media, with a distinct ‘They’ are lying to *us* motif.
The user has shared a plausible fact, then given the reader a picture (evidence) that seems
For example, some Flat earthers like to claim that the Michoud Assembly Facility is actually a film studio, which if were true, NASA would not need to film the ISS being faked outside using some film set as a stage. (8/20)
After I figured out that it was a set for Iron Man 2 via reverse image searching, I looked up the filming locations for the movie. The particular set was built at Sepulveda Dam in Burbank, California. (4/20)
If it were a NASA production like the meme claimed, and with the goal of faking the ISS, why would they add landscaping and fountains to the set? More importantly, why would it have been done outside in the first place? NASA has both the means and funds to film inside. (7/20)
Here we have a flat earther that does not realize that looking at the sky slowly turn from to blue to black is not that interesting. They also seem to not understand how rockets are controlled during launch.
Because Iron Man 2 was filmed well over a decade ago, modern images of the area from Google Earth does not show the set. However, with Google Earth Pro, you can choose the date. Going to 6/5/2009, which uses an image taken on 5/24/2009, you can see the film set. (6/20)
And would you look at that. STS129-E-09243 looks very similar to the photo in the meme. There is a series of about 15 photos where they all look similar enough to be the one in the meme. But due to the poor resolution, it is hard to tell the exact photo used. (14/20)
The explosion of NASA’s Challenger was nothing more than trauma based mind control.
The truth is there for you to see.
You’ve spent almost 40 years believing their story.
Maybe you should take 17 minutes to test those beliefs.
First, only the closest hill looks vaguely similar to the one on the moon regarding its shape only.
Second, that is not Buzz Aldrin on the moon because that is a panorama taken during Apollo 17. Meaning it is either Eugene Cernan of Jack Schmitt.
And just to clarify, the MAF is not actually a film studio. Only two movies utilized some space at the assembly. Both of these movies used the place after the cancellation of the Space Shuttle Program in 2011. IMDB shows two movies and a NASA documentary using the place. (10/20)
The meme itself is pretty ironic as well. Whoever made the meme clearly could not prove that the ISS was not real, so they had to fake a "NASA production" to support their claims. (17/20)
It is also really weird how the ISS in the meme has such stark shadows on what looks to be an overcast/foggy day. Especially since the light source would be to the left of the ISS in the meme, which you could tell by the shadows on the ISS. (15/20)
Next, I tried to find a similar image of the ISS just by looking through google images and eventually found this article and photo. It clearly was not the same image used in the meme but it was close enough, so I decided to run it through a reverse image search. (11/20)
Meme 4:
That "Crashed Satellite" is literally just a decorated cement mixer that fell and was left there in the mid 20th century. In 2011, it was decorated to make it look like a space capsule. (10/10)
Doing so showed me an image that looked pretty similar to the one in the meme. As a result, I clicked on it and looked at the articles that used said image. I found one that said the image was taken from Space Shuttle Atlantis on Nov. 25, 2009. (12/20)
A quick google search will show that the mission that took it was STS-129. Thanks to , I can easily find the images of the ISS that were taken during STS-129 while Atlantis was departing the station. (13/20)
And no, the shadows are not painted on because they clearly move during the series of photos. Look at the shadows on the radiator panels. Both of these photos were taken while STS-129 was departing the ISS. (16/20)
The photo in the meme is of the Apollo 16 crew training with a version of the Lunar Roving Vehicle prior to their actual mission. The photo was taken on February 6th, 1972. That is over two months before the actual mission. (4/10)
Here is a photo of said tire that is in the Smithsonian. They were made out of woven mesh to both save weight and to not need a pressurized wheel on the lunar surface. (7/10)
The photo also clearly does not show the actual rover used for the mission. You can tell this by comparing the wheels used for the training and actual LRVs. For the training ones used on earth, they used rubber tires. (5/10)
Here we have a flat earther claiming that the astronaut's shadow is not of a spacesuit, while pointing to said spacesuit. You can even see the shadow of Aldrin's Portable Life Support System.
1. That is clearly not the Apollo 17 Blue Marble.
2. Who knew that if you completely changed the original image by mirroring it to your heart's content, you too could make out vague shapes as well.
The meme also ignores the launch sites in Alaska, California, and Texas.
Countries such as Russia and China constantly launch rockets not directly next to large bodies of water. As a result, the booster and first stages impact the land like this. (3/10)
The people in the photo from left to right are: Charles Duke, John Young, and Thomas "Ken" Mattingly. They are the crew of the second to last Apollo mission, Apollo 16. (2/10)
Meme 1:
One of the reasons NASA primarily launches rockets near the "Bermuda Triangle" is because it is a very large area that is unpopulated, and as a result, rockets can easily crash there without risk to humans. (2/10)
The meme only mentions that the astronauts are not wearing the helmets, but it ignores that they are also not wearing gloves, overshoes, or their Portable Life Support System, or PLSS. (8/10)
Just when you think the intelligence levels of flat earthers cannot go any lower, they somehow find a way. Apparently flerfs think that cancer is good for you.
That photo was not taken while the crew were on the lunar surface. That is very obvious by the fact that the Ascent Stage is in the photo nearly upside down. The photo was actually taken by Michael Collins in low lunar orbit.
📽️🌘📐🌕Think about this one slowly. Take all the time you need. Since the same side of the moon always faces earth they would have to look directly up to see the moon. Earth shouldn’t be by the horizon. Also the phase of the moon should match the imaginary globe’s but it doesn’t
It is the same thing as this. No, those planes are not actually that large. The sky over the south is not currently obscured due to the massive aircraft flying around.
Ken Mattingly was the Command Module Pilot of Apollo 16. For all of the manned missions that landed on the moon, the CMP always stayed in lunar orbit while the other two astronauts landed using the Lunar Module. (3/10)
