Out of an abundance of caution due to the forecast wind and rain for tomorrow morning, we have made the decision to cancel school, all school activities and close all District offices on Wednesday, August 30th. A decision about Thursday will be announced by 3:00 p.m. tomorrow.
A “Grab & Go” breakfast and lunch will be served at 23 schools and 7 community sites from 9am to 11am March 23-27. The meals will be served together in a single bag, free for anyone under 18. Each child must be present at the pick-up location to receive a “Grab & Go” bag.
Tropical Storm Idalia Update

Out of an abundance of caution due to the forecast winds for our area, we are canceling school, all activities and closing all District offices on Tuesday, August 29th.
We will provide an update about our plans for August 30th by 1:00pm tomorrow.
The school calendar calls for schools to be closed for Good Friday on April 10th and Easter Monday on April 13th. Our Distance learning plan has taken these days into account and we do not expect students to have to do school work on these days.

As we move to implement our Distance Learning Plan, we wanted to give students and families an idea of what to expect. Students will still be given instruction and learning but through a virtual learning plan via Google Classroom beginning March 30th.
Breakfast and lunch will be free of charge at ALL 79 traditional Lee County public schools for the 2018-2019 School year. This is the first school year both meals will be provided to ALL students.

Due to the expected high winds and current conditions in our area, we will close all schools and District offices on Thurs Nov 10. A decision about school and district operations for Friday Nov 11, will be made by tomorrow afternoon.
The Class of 2020 deserves to be honored, and they will. The District is planning TWO ceremonies, a virtual graduation in June and a traditional graduation in July.
Every senior was sent a letter explaining how BOTH ceremonies are being planned to recognize their achievement.

High School football is coming back and fans will be in the stands.
The District will allow for 25% capacity of each school’s stadium. Players, cheerleaders and band members can get 2 tickets with the rest for the public.
Girl's volleyball players get 2 tickets for their games.
The District is partnering with the Miami Dolphins to distribute hurricane recovery supplies and hot meals on Tuesday, October 11th.
Distribution starts at 11:00 a.m. at North Fort Myers High School.

We have received reports of a threat at Mariner High School. Police are on scene. Students and staff have been placed on a lockdown and we are working with local authorities. Additional details will follow. Mariner Middle has also been placed on a lockdown as a precaution.
