I think that trans guys have an easier time reconciliating this cuz it's kind of a net gain. Trans women are not able to and very discouraged from identifying with a past gender cuz so often it's used to harm them and accuse them of duplicity.

Being raised as a boy within misogynistic systems *is* trauma. Being conditioned to perpetuate misogyny *is* traumatic. Later growing up to be trans or a woman exacerbates that trauma and turns it inward like a knife.

I've been in Trans HIV studies where they ask you quite bluntly about your sex partners and if they 1- Have a penis, 2- Use it to penetrate, 3- inject drugs, 4- Use condoms, 5- Their HIV status. Messy, but I suppose necessary questions.

Trans people are not supported in their medical care. Whether that's doctor incompetence, lapsing insurance coverage, aging out of youth programs, staff turn over - there are a myriad of reasons why our care is neglected. Our medical system is not built to support trans people

During that time, Ive de/re/de/retransitioned in different capacities and I don't feel regret or confusion Abt it. I've accepted that my gender/presentation/outward perception is flexible and malleable. I've found the bodily control that was stolen from me by CSA.

I think it's interesting, the amount of overlap between the trans/bodymod/CSA survivor community and this isn't really touched on. Bodily agency is something we all reach for and if you've faced abuse like CSA, control becomes a necessary drug.

Somatics, EMDR and other therapy has been invaluable for my self acceptance and healing. I'm still trans. Im active in community. I support the autonomy of trans kids and all trans people to pursue their truth and love of life.

Cause now when I lay down to sleep - I sleep. I don't struggle to breath. When I move and adjust my body while sitting, I'm not straining myself. When I practice yoga and I'm able to stretch into positions, my body isn't a physical barrier anymore.

I would have rather (and have) stayed at the shelter. Punk Houses like this are a trap for trans POC. IME, the household labor is disproportionately split up where POC are always stuck with the most household chores, the least amount of space and the most amount of surveillance.

I'm a dmab trans person. I'm a survivor of CSA, I've was a deeply gnc kid even before I came out as gay in MS. I got to socially transition in HS that was quasi accepting of the numerous trans people therein. I moved away out of state. Did SW, started her, now it's 10 yrs later.
