OTD 25 years ago I started with
@EastEnglandAmb
or Essex Ambulance Service as it was; over 20 of those years with
@EHAAT_
Still 💚my job and look forward to going to work, 💚 the people I work with; every day is a school day…PhD next 📖
#BlessedAndGrateful
Easy to be proud of the
@EHAAT_
team, today they put on a very well organised OSCE selection day for 22
#paramedics

@EastEnglandAmb
and
@EastAngliAirAmb
colleagues for their incredible input and support
Good friend Simon and I used to work together in the late 90s when the
#Ambulance
uniform was blue and we were Essex Ambulance Service! Now in green and specialising in
@EEAST_UrgCare
and
@EEAST_AirOps
lots of opportunities opening up
#paramedic
Overnight our
@EHAAT_
Critical Care Response car team
@doctorannaf
and Dan administered blood products, recruiting the first EHAAT patient to the whole blood
@SWiFT_trial
Proud to be collaborating with air ambulance units across the country on this important work 🩸
@BloodEssex
I flew with Capt Shaun Rose today, my first job on the

My 1st shift on the brand new
@EHAAT_
#AW169
at
#EarlsColne
today but it will feel very familiar as it’s a replica of our
#NorthWeald
aircraft that we’ve had since 2017. Safety and efficiency in standardisation 🚁 🚁 Good for pilots, good for clinicians, great for patients ☑️
Special delivery! 📦
@EHAAT_
welcomes the brand new
#AW169
G-EHAT. Our huge gratitude to the people of
#Essex
and
#Hertfordshire
for their continued support so we can keep saving lives across the region now and into the future🍾
Completed my training with
@EHAAT_
and now assimilated into the NVIS collective (
#startrek
reference; resistance was futile)! First time in over 20 years of
#hems
, landing at night in an unlit site not an airfield/helipad/airport. That felt different! 😯🌙 ✨
@emmajoyfulford
I wrote a risk assessment for this….consider how often in a shift you are required to log the time of an intervention and how many times you have to lift a dangling fob watch to view it with a gloved hand 🦠
In 1700 flying missions with
@EHAAT_
I have flown with 84 commanders, here are some of those distinguished and dependable aviators

🕘 a job on the hour as soon as we came online. The pre-shift prep and checks against checklists ensure that the crew, aircraft and kit are all 💯 mission ready

Learn so much from my peers at our weekly case review meetings

the catharsis as important as the learning and a necessary ingredient for the the ongoing welfare of teams, pleasure to be joined by our

Today we met Lewis and Jo
@EveryoneActive
I do not say this glibly: They SAVED my father-in-Law’s life by recognising cardiac arrest and immediately commencing

and using an AED⚡️before
@EastEnglandAmb
and

arrived. Our family are forever indebted

We are delighted to announce NARS Critical Care Paramedic Carl Smith has been recognised in the New Years Honours being awarded a BEM; British Empire Medal. So well deserved and we are so proud of him!
These were a fantastic resource and are well thumbed. The tutor course which was 4 weeks residential with a year’s development in the middle was probably the best course I’ve ever been involved with. 📚
#paramedic
Amazing. Just having a clear out and found my old paramedic manual. As the 6th edition of the
@ParamedicsUK
curriculum is being written, it’s incredible to compare it with what we covered in 2005.
New

Head Injury Lead

joined us remotely reminding me of all the work we’ve got to do in to improve prehospital

giving the best talk on spinal injury I’ve ever heard
Kicking off our 6-day

course is Gareth Davies talking on scene and patient assessment.
@BurrellLisa
has put together a bespoke, immensely practical course for our newer team members
Ropivacaine for the soul! Thanks to all the contributors and
@BurrellLisa
for a great

Regional Anaesthesia and Patient Experience Study day. FIB has an important place in prehospital care
Congratulations to
@EHAAT_
Heaster Student of the Year Award winner Yousef Maait and to
@Gavin_Keymer
on his Highly Commended Award. Both made significant contributions with their project work in 2022 and were a pleasure to work with 🥇🥇
Dr Gareth Davies has always challenged my algorithm-comforted brain to think bigger and wider, and he’s at it again
@IofPHC
Resuscitation Science Symposium ‘Achieving Mastery in the PreHospital Management of Cardiac Arrest’
Dr Gareth Davies providing his incredible insight into major incidents and applying a framework for casualty flow…I’ve only attended one major incident and leaving the aircraft with a map book was key 🗺️ would tablet/phone map app be as useful/reliable? 🤔
The psychological impact of resuscitation affects everyone differently. Immediately afterwards, you might feel great – or sometimes you might not be affected at all.
But it's important to remember that at times, exposure to resuscitation can be shocking, upsetting or disturbing.
I love my job. Today I visited
@NHSHarlow
blood lab to wish Gill, on behalf of all
@EHAAT_
patients and particularly Steve (in the video) who have received prehospital blood products, a very happy and healthy retirement, thanks for all your amazing work Gill x
Interesting to hear what happens to the prehospitally placed pelvic binder once the patient meets the Orthopaedic Surgeon; it continues to be a useful device for up to 24hrs, lower better than higher and still has value when positioned just above the knees! Thanks Mr Daren Foward
Have been extremely fortunate to have had the influence of strong and inspirational role models and leaders throughout my life and career

Ability to listen to handover and take on info is probably inversely proportional to your pulse rate etc….optimising your own physiology getting to the scene with heavy bags and a bit of a hike/jog a vital first step in patient assessment 🚁🏃

Dr Gareth Davies talking about THE hyperacute phase of

She’s done it again!
@BurrellLisa
has choreographed a complex, multifaceted, multi-sim ‘day at work’ for our new and partner critical care teams
@EHAAT_
The day is so much fun with loads of learning thanks to months of planning. 0700hrs for the sim lead’s brief 🌅
Small teams bonding through adversity. How do we prepare teams and ensure psychological safety? Giving this a lot of 🤔 currently,how far do we stretch resilience?

Introducing new kit and therapies
@EHAAT_
involves a reorientation of our

Trauma deaths (London data) mostly occur

Exciting times for Leander as she explores the
