@Keithhambone And as a non-EU citizen, the amount of paperwork & bureaucracy I had to go thru was insane. They would always hire British nationals to teach, but they were desperate for more teachers & recruited me. Now after Brexit, I can’t even imagine where they find native English speakers.

@Keithhambone The two main things you notice are the Euro (no changing your money to francs, lira, guilders) & the Schengen open borders. The UK kept the pound, & was not in the Schengen Zone. The worst customs harassment I've ever had in Europe was taking the Chunnel to the UK....pre-Brexit.

@laralogan @elonmusk Just like any bureaucracy, it exists to keep perpetuating itself. I can remember liberals criticizing it decades ago as a very corrupt organization. Countries meeting together to talk is great. But that's not what it is, nor has been for a very long time. If it ever even was.

It looks like Asians are somehow immune, at least the ones living in Asia. I read they are laughing at us about our suffering. What nerve!
