UPDATE 6:30 PM: The area is repopened except for 110th Street S. between Steele Street and 26th Ave. That section of road remains closed while officers stay on scene. This is the last update for the night.

Bridgeport Way SW is closed southbound at Lakewood Dr with one northbound lane open for a serious injury collision.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: Unfortunately this was a fatality collision. Emergency response crews are still on scene. We expect the road to be cleared and reopened within another roughly 30 minutes. Please drive cautiously and expect backups in this area.

Today officers responded to the McChord Mart for a reported shooting. 3 males attempted a theft and assaulted the owner. Once outside there was an exchange of gunfire where the owner was struck. Officers detained the males; the owner has non-life-threatening injury.

Yesterday afternoon Lakewood Police learned of a possible location where prolific retail thief Jasmine "Chicken Scam Lady" Willie would be. Officers conducted surveillance, arrested her without incident and booked her into the county jail on numerous outstanding warrants.
