PM Keir Starmer hosted German Chancellor Olaf Scholz this afternoon. Starmer said he was committed to strengthening the UK’s relationship with the EU to drive greater growth and closer security ties. The meeting ahead of Starmer attending an EU leaders council tomorrow.

Total funding to police forces will be up to £17.5 billion next year, an increase of up to £1.1 billion compared to the 2024 to 2025 police funding settlement. Neighbourhood Watch and the National Police Chiefs chair have welcomed a 200 million boost to neighbourhood policing.
