Last summer I helped a young man get off social assistance with a job that is not only in his field, but also pays much better than minimum wage. Today I had a coffee with him and he told me his bills are all paid and he loves his job. Warms my heart.

For 6 years I checked on my parents daily after work (10 hr shifts) because my Dad was sick; in Oct we moved them to seniors home; Dad went into care in early Dec and passed away last week. I'm exhausted and broke. Eldercare is exhausting & financially draining.

I found out today that another friend of mine has gone into palliative care with days to a few weeks left. She couldn't wait to retire and enjoy life. She is only 63. Get out there and have fun because we never know when our time is up.

Well that was a morning. Daughter and I just helped an elderly lady drawl out of her car. She went off the road and just narrowly missed 3 boulders and the power pole. She is okay. Her car is being towed out of the ditch.

My friend was the last one to get off the Ocean Ranger. He had a medical emergency and was airlifted to Montreal.
His mom thought was was among the crew that in this tragedy.
He called her after his surgery and 12 hours after this happened.
Can you imagine?
1982 Canada All 84 crew on board are lost when an oil-drilling rig capsizes and sinks in a storm on the Grand Banks off Newfoundland and Labrador. The Ocean Ranger disaster is attributed to failures in structural design and inadequate safety measures.

Mi'kmaq Elder Billy Lewis passed away at age 89.
I met him back in the 1980s the same day he met his wife, Robbie.
He will be missed.
