Yesterday, LWU together with other petitioners in the consolidated petition took to the Supreme Court of Uganda an appeal challenging the April constitutional court ruling that upheld the Anti-Homosexuality Act. We shall continue to challenge this law in all ways and we shall continue to stand and fight for the rights of LGBTQ+ people in Uganda. Special thanks to all lawyers from all the Petitions who jointly did a good job so far. @CFE_Uganda @SMUG2004 @jjuukoa @frankmugisha @richardlusimbo @nickopiyo @yesWEAID @queereNothilfe @Aidshilfe_de

Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Partners, We hope this message finds you well. The recent "Stop Work” order by President Trump, has caused immense disruption across various organisations, significantly affecting their ability to deliver critical emergency services to the LGBTQ+ community and indirectly placing burden on organisations who have not been affected by this order directly. This order has halted vital support systems, worsening an already dire situation. We urge you to review the attached full statement for a detailed overview of the situation and its consequences. Your continued solidarity and support are more crucial than ever during this challenging time.@yesWEAID @queereNothilfe

Strengthening partnerships and collaboration and working together as always been one of our goals. Yesterday LWU payed courtesy visits to our partners @HappyFYUL , @UgandaCosf and others. We also reexamined the hotspot areas around Kampala and visited some safe shelters. Thank you all for having us to your spaces and the assurance of cooperation you gave us.

Are you wondering what services you can access at our newly opened DIC? Here are some of them: 1. HIV prevention services eg access to PEP, PrEP, condoms and lubricants. 2. HIV Testing and access to quick self testing kits. 3. Mental Health counselling and support. We are setting up more services and when they are available eg, treatment services like ARVs enrolment on treatment, care and refills and other services we shall keep you posted. And again don’t worry about these abbreviations 😀 in our future posts we shall endeavour to take you through one by one.

Let’s Walk Uganda(LWU) and @queereNothilfe at the Equal Rights Coalition Conference in Berlin. We stand united in the fight for human rights for all. Recently, our team attended the Equal Rights Coalition conference co-chaired by Germany and Mexico, where we discussed the alarming rise of anti-rights movements and the growing wave of anti-LGBTIQ+ laws worldwide. Together, we emphasize the need for solidarity, action, and resilience in protecting the rights of marginalized communities. The fight for equality, dignity, and justice is more important than ever. Let’s continue to push for inclusive policies and challenge hate wherever it exists. 🌈 #HumanRights #LGBTIQ+Rights #EqualRightsCoalition #StandTogether #LetsWalkUganda #JusticeForAll #EndHate #HumanDignity #GlobalSolidarity
