Did you know that our wind turbines are serviced twice a year? This regular maintenance is crucial for keeping them healthy and efficient. In addition to scheduled servicing every six months, our turbines are equipped with sensors that alert us when parameters exceed normal operating ranges, ensuring any issues are addressed promptly. A typical service check-list includes: ✅ Cleaning all equipment ✅ Visual inspections of blades, towers, and nacelles ✅ Lubrication of bearings, gears, and moving parts ✅ Electrical system checks and testing ✅ Blade inspection and repair ✅ Structural integrity assessments ✅ Replacement of gearbox, hydraulic oil, and coolants as needed #WindPower #SustainableEnergy #LTWPMaintenance

Did you know that households in rural Kenya consume an average of 5 kWh of electricity per month? That’s like running a 60W lamp for a little over 83 hours. In Kenya, 1 kilowatt hour (kWh) is equivalent to one "unit" of power. So, every time you turn on that light switch, you’re using a little piece of energy magic. #WindEnergy #LTWPTurbines

Did you know that although we refer to them as “wind turbines,” the turbine is only one of the three main parts? Part 1 - Turbines – It is the giant blades and the rotor (hub) that make up the “turbine”. As wind passes by, it makes the blades spin around. These blades have an aerodynamic curved shape to capture as much energy from the wind as possible. The blades are attached to a hub, which spins as the blades turn. As the rotor turns, it spins a drive shaft which is connected to a generator inside the housing at the top of the tower. Part 2 - Shaft – This is a gearbox which increases the speed of the spinning blades enough to power the electricity generator. Part 3 - Generator – It converts the mechanical energy of the moving wind into electrical energy, with the help of the spinning shaft. #LTWPTurbines #WindEnergy #HowTurbinesWork

A reason to celebrate!! 61 years after Kenya attained independence, the country is close to being a fully renewable energy country. We are honoured to be part of that success by contributing 12% wind power to Kenya’s national grid. Here’s to a sustainable and prosperous Kenya for generations to come. Happy Jamhuri Day! #JamhuriDay #RenewableEnergy #LTWP
