@jaycoyden @suntimes_sports What the Sun-Times guy, Kyle Williams, wrote was accurate. It reports the news. All of what you note would entail an investigative piece that would be appropriate as a follow-up, if the paper opted to devote the resources necessary to report it.

@jaycoyden @suntimes_sports I do not doubt any of your facts. But the reality is Chicago State announced it would start a search to hire a football coach, which is news. Sun-Times reported that news as a news story, which wasn't the proper platform to question whether a football program would ever happen.

@jaycoyden @suntimes_sports The intent of this 600-word story in the Sun-Times was not to do an expose on Chicago State's fundraising, but to report the news of the school's public proclamation that it had begun a search to hire a football coach. Nothing amiss journalistically with this story as written.

@ChiSoxFanMike The Sox already have three outfielders in their 30s who were signed to major-league deals as free agents in the offseason (Slater, Tauchman, Taylor), which seems at least one too many. What would be the point of adding Billy Hamilton?

Not much to quibble about in 24 players named to PVF All-Star Match. Rookies who stepped up over last few weeks, Valks MB Natalie Foster and Rise OPP Naya Shime, weren't picked. Shakiest choice: Inconsistent Vibe rookie OPP Merritt Beason, but she was 1st player picked in draft.

@CST_soxvan Dick Allen will go into the Hall as a Philly. The fans in the City of Brotherly Love pretty much booed Allen out of town. But it makes sense because he was there the longest, and when he left Our Sox, it was not on good terms, his contract sold to the Braves for a paltry $5,000.
