It's the same with his "i'm so much more than you made me to be", but clearer said. I understand this "more" as he admits he IS what he was made to be, but it's just small part of him, part he may be don't like, but don't deny either. AA denies all weak and bad parts of him.

sleeping. Astarion has nightmares in canon, Durge also has issues with normal sleep, so finding a moment to relax and rest is a good thing for both of them.

datamined Withers voicelines from epilogue says spawn Astarion burned palace to dust, while lord staying there (if Tav break with him), wanting to ask Tav go back but not doing it because it's beneath a Vampire Lord.

It reminds me some sort of PTSD reaction, when you hate crying cause it's weak and pathetic, but any outside pressure just forces you to. And the more you try to hold it - the worse it gets. If it's his case - he's very good with holding tears, really

I see him as both little and big spoon. He needs to be cared and loved, sure, but he also defend Tav and especially Durge when they needs that. With how weak and pathetic he sees himself - i think it's important to feel himself able to protect and care, to be someone to rely on.

Want to make it hurt even more? Imagine how much worse it to him if you break it up because it's HE who started that conversation. He was open and honest with you for the first time, he wanted help and support - but all he did is ruined that small comfort and hope he had.

In many fictional worlds vampires are forced to stay near the place they died or buried, dnd included. Larian ignored that rule (i think it's for the best), but looks like 100% canonical dnd vampire spawn Astarion should feel very bad, being so far from his grave in act 1

the funniest thing here - he's REALLY scared of vampires (bc Caz may send other spawns to bring him home as he does in act3), he REALLY prefer to protect Tav and stay with them, and he's not interested in biting you or others in camp to death.
so he's kinda saying the truth :D

It's a mystery to me. He needs it's smell to relax? Can't get used to new sleeping places? Just want to bring mess to his sleep place? He likes chaos so much? Or it's just a metaphor for his pretty facade and lots of pain and darkness behind it? Can't pick one.

i came to Gortash after Durge remembered themself and told to everyone who they are, so my whole party was "yeah yeah what else's new?"
also when you talk with Astarion, Durge says what they really are and thy're scared of that - Astarion's reaction is just beautiful

He's funny here bit it's hard to imagine how nervous it was for him - waiting your ally to betray you, or your enemy to find out it's you who he hunt for. He barely knew Tav/Durge to that moment and could only hope they won't turn on him there, or just hand him to Gandrel ._.

i read it like both Ascended and Spawn are two sides of regular Astarion, and through game we can support one or another parts of him, helping him to develop and heal, or to build bigger walls around himself.

Thinking abt in act1 he wanted power, to protect himself, and fun just... for fun. He likes fun

In act1 Astarion was angry at Tav's being sad for him too. He needs someone to carry and worry for him, but he'll accept it only from the person he trusts, and Halsin is a total stranger for him.

my RT hated Marazhai at first. not in the "i'll kill you"-way, but in "i'll use you, i'll make you serve and suffer for all you've done to me"-way.
so it's not only him who played the game and lost in "true romance" route :D
but eh, both of them was fine with that in the end

he threatened Tav with blowing up for the whole game, here and there. i think it's just his new habit, after living with nuke in his chest for so long. not sure if it's a healthy one, but it's way funnier when he has no nuke anymore, at least his own spells not as dangerous :T

I like when he call Tav a friend. He had so much lovers meaning of the word should be twisted and even lost for him. But a friend is very special, first person in centuries he trusts.
Also I believe lover should also be a friend, so it'll be fine to me with other characters too

I think it's important he was SO BAD with flirting in act1 because he always acted like that. It was enough, why bother. After he starts caring for you his flirting changes and became so much better

with how proud and arrogant Astarion is - you can see how he breaks when Araj talks to him like he's a thing, a walking tool. the same in his nightmare, when he tries to be smaller and begs for mercy. dude has an iron will, surviving all of that, and he still that terrified :(

i like fictional villains. when done well they're entertaining, funny, cool etc. good villains and antagonists give me a lot of emotions, so each time i find a good one - i'm happy.
also i really like temporary alliances between villains and good guys. as for other stuff...

i think he's pretty alive for a vampire. he can make sex means he has blood pressure (uknow), means his heart beat. he sweats in game. looks like he can do all living things aside of eating (and looks like he can even eat and drink, but it tastes bad and don't give him energy) 1/

He also was scared AF. What if things go wrong and tadpole won't protect him from Caz? What if Tav leave him after knowing what he did? What if you both lose etc.
Stakes getting high, tension gets insane. The more scared he gets- the more stupid and insufferable he become

i'm 100% sure if you romance Gale as Durge there are lines about Durge can't have kids bc they'll also be Bhaalspawns, doomed to serve Bhaal.
iirk vampires in dnd can make kids (wtf HOW but whatever) so i'm more confused about Durge part ._.

He's so shy! Heal him in relationships is the total opposite of the persona he played with his victims (and you in act1), when he was always leading, saying all those cliche lines and keeping walls between you. Astarion opening his real self is such a treasure, I can't get enough

если бы. имхо наоборот было бы неплохо если б персонажи были плюс-минус заменяемыми и отличались просто набором эффектов. а тут начинается цирк с отжором хп у самого себя, стаками, особыми анимациями, спецэффектами и особыми врагами которых без этих эффектов пилить три года

I wonder if it's connected with his lost family, before his siblings. He know that type of loss already, and maybe after the first one he decided he should do something back then. Failing to do that again should hurt VERY bad.

Vampire regeneration. Cazador was impaled for 11 years and we see he's physically alright.
It hurts to think how hard one can torture regenerating being.
His back scars was made at specific way, with special tools or magic I believe, while all other wounds heals completely

i tried poly romamce with them and get disappointed. Halsin and Astarion has no connection at all, so it feels like it's Tav's personal harem, not a relationships. Harems in games are cool, but Halsin's romance is too small.
Also i don't believe Astarion will be happy with that.

I'd prefer to slam Cazador, the main reason why he's so vulnerable to such mistreatment. Astarion acts similarly in his first nightmare, also crouching and trying to be smaller.
I think this scene with Araj is showing us how he acted when his master treated him the same way.
