LA is covered in old parking lots—so what’s next? 🌆 Instead of leaving them as heat islands, we can turn them into affordable housing, green spaces, or vibrant community hubs. What would you love to see in these underused spaces? Drop your ideas below! 👇 #ReimagineLA

A car-free street with small shops, trees, street furniture, coffee carts, and al fresco dining invites people to stroll, linger, and shop. We close streets temporarily across Los Angeles for events, Farmer's Markets, and more!

Cars take up too much space physically to work as a form of mass transportation in a city; there will always be traffic. The key to creating mobility for people is making safe and reliable transportation.

We live in a car-centric world because we have built a car-centric world. So, how do we build our way out? 🤔 Bike Towns are car-free communities created to encourage people to utilize public land by traveling in more environmental ways.

LCI buildings are designed to be Courtyard Buildings, allowing shared green space and a quiet interior. Bedrooms can face the courtyard for privacy. This also means having units with windows on both sides, giving apartments ample air and light.

Cities all over the world have established beautiful architecture by instilling a consistent design, height, and material usage. Many neighborhoods in LA have a historic vernacular with stunning examples from world-famous architects like Paul R. Williams

There is a noticeable inconsistency in the proper protection of bike lanes in the streets of LA. While some streets have barriers to protect bike lanes from cars sharing the road, many are poorly protected from traffic. We need to raise awareness to help keep our LA bikers safe!
