On this day in 1993: Loyola Academy faced Downers Grove South for the IHSA State Championship. Greg Taylor accounted for the only score of the game. The Rambler defense stifled the Mustangs in a 7-0 shutout. It was the program’s first state title led by the late John Hoerster.

On this day in 2015: Loyola Academy played at Palatine in the IHSA State Semifinals in freezing, snowy conditions. To be able to get the game in, hours of snow removal took place beforehand. The Ramblers held on to win 24-22 while punching their ticket to the State Championship.
