From Charleston South Carolina, born & bred.. Cats are cool ~ politics not. Life is good 'cause I ain't hiding from nobody. Nobody’s hiding from me ....😺
Lucia arrives ~
For the first time since the accident she ate close to the porch. She barked at other squirrels when they came to close to her.
Her future looks brighter.
I followed Lucia home to make sure she didn't have any trouble with cars or anything else.
She lives across the street 3 houses down. A long walk for little legs.
A unknown old female squirrel came this morning. She wouldn't come to the porch with me there but she came close enough.
So far closing the feeding stations seems to be helping. This morning was more peaceful.
Lucia arrives this morning ~
She ate 4 walnut halves and took a 5th home. Again I followed her home to avoid danger.
I think she is slight better today. She sat up some to eat. That's a good sign.
Baby boy III arrives ~
I'm sorry little monkey. I forgot all about you.
( He's a front porch squirrel and hasn't learned to come into the back yard yet. )
The old squirrels of Squirrelville ~
Clara is the oldest squirrel I have even seen. She has had some medical issues but is doing better now. She's also one of the smartest squirrels here.
Kudos little wise one.
To my utter amazement Clara has returned ~
Late this afternoon our old girl came to me. She ate 3 walnut halves and I placed piles of peanuts on the deck so she could eat her fill. Also hoping she would drink some water there.
Baby boy II arrives ~
Not to be confused with Baby boy I
Both boys have the same trusting demeanor. Not siblings. Friendly.
Baby boy II stayed for a long time this afternoon. It was nice.
The mothers of Squirrelville ~
She's back ... She squats to sit. She has been coming for about 5 years and she's a baby making machine. When her kits are weaned she will run away leaving her kits behind at my house.
Clara ~
It's been 9 days without a visit. She's the only elderly squirrel I have ever seen. An experience for me. I hope our encounter was positive for her and helped her out. Perhaps she will return someday.
I hope so.
Lucia arrives along with every other squirrel within a 2 mile radius.
It's becoming very windy. My squirrels have been through hurricanes and countless storms however I have never seen them this nervous.
The storm will arrive late this afternoon.
Lucia arrives ~
Her condition is slightly worse but she has a healthy appetite and ate 4 walnut halves and took a 5th half home. She drank plenty of water before returning home. Again I followed her.
