TPP USA Donates GHS 7,000 to Support Clean-Up Exercises in Gomoa Central I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of TPP USA for their generous donation of GHS 7,000 to support clean-up exercises in the Gomoa Central Constituency. As part of their directive, the funds will be distributed among seven towns, with each receiving GHS 1,000 to purchase essential materials such as brooms, and other tools necessary for the exercise. The selected beneficiary communities are: ✅ Jukwa ✅ Ekwamkrom ✅ Manso ✅ Aboso ✅ Benso ✅ Ekroful ✅ Akropong The clean-up exercise is scheduled for the 15th of February 2025, and I encourage all residents to fully participate in this initiative to help maintain a clean and healthy environment. How can we expect an accused person to receive a fair trial when the same individual or group acts as both the victim and the judge? This is exactly what was done to Jesus Christ of Nazareth - those who despised him were the ones who sat in judgment over him. My life has been dedicated to fighting for the weak, the vulnerable, and minority groups. I firmly believe that it is highly inappropriate and a blatant abuse of power for anyone to be a judge in their own case. The laws on contempt of court and parliament should be reviewed by the Constitutional Review Committee. Under the new Standing Orders of Ghana's Parliament, a caucus can be formed by not less than seven (7) Members of Parliament who share a common interest or affiliation. This adjustment lowers the threshold and allows smaller groups, including independent MPs, to organize and represent their collective interests effectively within Parliament. This change is aimed at fostering inclusivity and accommodating diverse political voices in Ghana's legislative process. By 2028, we can secure more than 10 independent candidates in Parliament if we stay focused and committed. Once elected, we can establish an Independent Caucus with a leader, a Chief Whip, and other essential roles. This is the foundation for creating a strong third force in Ghana's political landscape. While I commend the efforts of courageous young men and women striving to build a third force, I encourage us to consider this alternative approach. It’s more practical and promising. Last year, I was invited to the CID headquarters to provide information regarding the murder of Ahmed Suale. During the meeting, I identified a high-profile minister from the previous government who was allegedly involved in contracting assailants to carry out the crime. I also disclosed my source, a highly credible one, in the presence of the CID director. It is critical that the CID director updates the public on the progress of the investigation and indicates with justification whether additional time is required. At this point, it appears the matter has been sidelined. If no update is provided within 48 hours, I will invoke my authority as a Member of Parliament to formally summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on this case. Should that fail, I will utilize my Facebook and other social media platforms to update the nation on what I know about the matter which shall include the name of the alleged perpetrator. Thank you.
