I found out this week that a large number of North American taxi call centres have been outsourced overseas. That’s not on our radar AT ALL. In fact, our developers are actually in-house. No one outside of the GTA and our dispatch centre is in Toronto. That won’t change. 👍🇨🇦

Here’s good news: checked up on 2 of the 4 drivers who had tested positive. One is completely resolved and the driver with the most recent case is feeling good today. The previous 2 I had spoken to earlier and they were feeling better. This is such a relief. 🙏😌

I have 2 girls. I had to stand up to a rule requiring kids to say yes if they were asked to dance at their school dance. Who is that helping?! Scariest is the rule had been in effect for more than a year. Implemented by a woman. I wasn’t having it & suggested above instead. Awful

For those railing against the City re: the BBQ guy - the city allowed uber to operate for > 3 years with zero license to do so. They conned taxi drivers to build a client list then moved those clients to private vehicles at unsustainable rates. But outrage. 🤷♀️

Our experience: if you have symptoms & use a rapid test same day it could be negative. By day 3 of symptoms another rapid test will be positive. Reading about omicron this is the norm. Hate to think people are dismissing symptoms as a cold because of an early negative rapid test.

Just found out Toronto Public Health is advising people who want to get tested and don’t have a car: don’t take transit, ask family or a friend but if not, take a taxi or ride share. This is wrong. The City should be recruiting specific drivers for this to reduce spread.

Yep. There were varying offerings among companies but you could order a taxi through Beck's app prior to being able to do the same with the uber app and a couple of years before uberX arrived. Lyft just got here,
