A profane secret, 150 years in the making.
A collection of cursed paintings, spanning six continents.
And one prophetic painter at the center of it all.
THE MACABRE is showing exclusive through

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t cabaret supposed to be unsettling? And isn’t his character supposed to represented the grimy underbelly of authenticity? And isn’t the puppet movements supposed to show how the nazi’s puppeteered ppl in the 30s? Isn’t this the point?
Since so many people seem to just forget in the white feminism outrage of Barbie...

My heart goes out to every Blue voter in a sea of red, who has fought to create a world you are proud to live in, but keep on getting shot down by not only your red neighbors who view you as lesser than, but fellow blues who deem you the butt of their jokes.
You deserve better
Every dog falls under 1 of 4 categories, this is scientifically proven and tested by me:
1. DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN
2. ELEGANT LADY
3. LOVABLE GREMLIN
4. BABY
Disagree? I dare you to prove me wrong with dog pictures. You won’t do it 👀
My boyfriend and I are recovering from a night of wedding fun times and he has me watching friends.
I’m sorry yall you all were wrong. This show is great. I cannot trust the mass bashing of tv anymore cuz yall are wrong.
I love this show. It’s just so simple & chill & good.
I'm sorry yall you cannot tell me the Paris 2024 Olympic symbol is a flame (which supposedly it is) and not a bad ass Parisian woman with a SEVERE AND EPIC BOB, about to ruin a man's whole life. This is a LIE.
This is Mademoiselle Adrienne Blanchet. I'll accept nothing less.
In the beginning of 2020, I whispered, "queer Black men deserve happily ever afters". 2 years later, that whisper is a book & you can buy it TODAY!
I like to say "I root for everyone queer and Black". Thank you for rooting for & supporting me.

Billy Eichner, in talking about his new rom-com BOYS, said, "a gay rom com cannot & should not play to the same rules as a straight rom com nor is it meant to appeal to everyone" and some of you need to read that sentence over and over again until you can recite it in your sleep.
Make no mistake, people use libraries for more than books.
They use it to apply for jobs.
For a safe space during the cold.
To act as daycare when they have work.
To fill out paperwork like to vote or get aid.
THIS is censorship and systematic genocide. Slowly but surely.
Missouri Republicans have voted to defund all public libraries. It is an apparent extortion attempt to try to force libraries to remove books that include LGBTQ characters or racial justice themes. (per

Even if Babel does promote violence instead of unity? So what? Pocs deserve rage too, not just the white forks who lose their kingdoms, fall in love with a rogue, use a dagger and discover they come from a secret line of witches
I hope Kiera Knightley knows, and I don’t mean this lightly, how Elizabeth Swann as a character, specifically becoming Pirate Lord of the South China Sea and Pirate King irrevocably changed by brain chemistry and the trajectory of my writing, life and sexuality forever.
Paramore's Hayley Williams tells fans they’re “dead to her” if they vote for Ron DeSantis:
“I’ll be happy to tell you I’m very fucking comfortable talking politics. If you vote for Ron DeSantis, you’re fucking dead to me. Is that comfortable enough for anyone?”
1. LB is a guarentee success. Yes, this money could have been used on newer authors, but she WILL earn this back.
2. Publishing is a business. Businesses prefer safety.
3. Tentpole authors have ALWAYS been the reasons publishers CAN support other authors.
4. Yall aren't LB.
I‘ll admit I was wrong; MY POLICEMAN is a gay tragedy, but still enjoyed it deeply.
However. I’m ashamed and saddened to be in an audience where any amount of gay love, intimacy or romance is met with laughs. Like my ppl being happy is a joke. It hurts.

As someone who is trying to start screenwriting I talked with my film agent about this last week.
It also unofficially blacklists you from joining writer rooms too. Don’t do it. Wait till the strike is over. Support your fellow writers.
PSA: The WGA strike may mean that novelists & authors get approached for screenwriting. While this may seem like a perfect opportunity, please note that the WGA does strongly enforces its right to prevent non-members who have engaged in scabbing from ever becoming members.
Today, after 8 long yrs, my ode to syfy, gay & Black boys, love & grief debuts.
I’m never proud of myself but today? I’m really proud.
I hope you love YESTERDAY IS HISTORY as much as me! Thanks for joining me on this trek.

it takes more courage and more representation of democratic values to fight for what's right when everyone says you're wrong.

there is no better analogy for the story of barbie than the comments.
If it failed, it would have been Greta's fault and how women don't deserve movies targeted to them.
If it succeeded, its only b/c its an iconic ip, not Greta's vision.
There is no winning for women here.

Y’all sleeping on Hailee Steinfeld, that’s all I’m saying:
- Nominated for an Oscar at 14
- Successful music career
- Leading a top Netflix series
- Part of the biggest franchise in the world and gonna be a bigger player in phase 4
- and a BELLA
An icon, truly.
So, my debut comes out in 3 days.
As a queer black author, who writes books for queer black kids, first week sales are paramount to me continuing to do the work I love.
Your preorder (or a RT!) would mean the world. And if you have already; thank you!
Dear Black authors. I have tried to reach out to you privately regarding copyright infringement for having a Black main character, but have received no response. Please take your tweet down.
Today, my third novel, SURVIVE THE DOME, debuts.
If a story about 3 PoC teens who team up to take down a militarized police force that puts an impenetrable dome around Baltimore sounds like your thing, click the link below!

You should NOT be quitting your job when you get 1 six figure book deal unless your cost of living is VERY LOW.
100k is really 60-70 k after taxes spread over 2-3 years.
Please set yourself up for success!
I’m tired of you all defending racist actions with CC.
It’s abhorrent. You all have gone of tirade to break down women of color for far less but when a white woman does it , it’s suddenly, “BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CONTRACT PRECEDENT?” Or “HER MENTAL HEALTH THOUGH.”

ANTI-VAXX PROTESTER: Do you see all of these homeless people around. Are they dead in the street with COVID? Hell no. Why?
HOMELESS PERSON (walking by): Because I’m vaccinated you dumb fuck.
Honest question, excluding book bans from this which is absolutely a factor, how much of this is writers refusing to adjust their writing, topics, stories and genres to what teens actually want versus what you think they want?
Teens ebb and flow interest, and we should adapt 1/2
With young adult fiction the only major category posting a decline, unit sales of print books increased 4.2% in the week ended Mar. 11, 2023, over the comparable week in 2022, at outlets that report to Circana BookScan.
Writing is political.
Creativity is political.
Art is political.
What you choose to include is political.
But more importantly, what you choose to exclude is political.
Do you ever include politics in your writing, and is it appropriate to do so?
Personally, I keep it out of my novels. Interested in what everyone else thinks.
Excluding BABEL and
@XiranJayZhao
from the Hugo’s, some of the most influential works and artists of our time, changing the narrative and using their platforms for good, is purely batshit insane.
Isn’t SFF built on the ideas of critiquing the world at large? Like wtf.
Making a fake page from a book, not clarifying that its parody in the original, that results in it getting review bombed which could effect the authors sales?
Sounds like a possible law suit to me.
How did we go from “kissing ppl without asking first is bad” but “objectifying real life people to the point they are uncomfortable enough to speak out is okay because we contribute to their franchise ” is okay?
It’s giving “I paid you so shut up and be okay with this.”
Not to bring this back up but I don’t know how much it hurts and breaks to see people saying “I don’t trust queer men to write queer stories” or “queer men don’t write good queer stories.”
Lol she blocked me.
Writers,
@InscripLiterary
is an agency I would NOT ADVISE you query & should be ashamed. You all deserve to not feel scared or silenced when you have questions. This is ICKY.
I’m more than in the mood to fight, I’m a Scorpio and depressed. I have time.

Just because teens read it doesn’t make it ya. Teens should be able to read anything they want absolutely but that doesn’t it make it ya. This isn’t a hard concept.

Sell your books to whoever will buy them.
Selling a book means you can write more books. You might get writing credit which puts you in WGA, which gives you insurance. And maybe executive producer credit which is more money.
Which means more writing time.

is embarrassing. Incredibly unpleasant. Like most modern adult "comedies" it's raunchy simply to be raunchy, forgetting there has to be humor attached, and there's none of that. Objectifies men, targets white people. All shock value, "look at me" attitude.
I promise you, if I said “I looked up at to see where the voice was coming from and saw a man with skin the color of lumpless mashed potatoes” y’all would understand how degrading DESCRIBING BLACK PEOPLE WITH FOOD IS.
Won a lambda.
Hit the USATODAY bestsellers list.
Sold a secret project of my dreams.
Got a life changing job.
Began to conquer my flight fear.

Here’s to 32!
Books aren’t gendered but we absolutely still need to have have more mirrors for post middle school boys to see themselves because if not then the pipeline to Alex Jones is a slip and slide and I will die on this hill
We need more boy centric post MG books. Boys need them.
Pals, are we ready to have the 'there is nothing out there for teen boy readers' discussion yet? Because the more I hear 'I can't find anything I like' from them during my school visits, the more I grow convinced publishing has forgotten about the post-Middle Grade boys.
@matthewcondello
i think that's valid but i also think that's the point! also as someone said, it being up close when you would usually see it 40 feet away doesn't help.
lemme be clear i don't like Eddie though so...drag him sis
An apology has 4 parts
1 - what I did wrong.
2 - why it was wrong.
13- what I’m doing to fix it.
4 - a direct or indirect apology to those hurt.
This isn’t it
other people have said it, but i'm pretty sure this whole author thing is money, blue check bait, * we should stop engaging.
some data!
the general rate is 1 dollar per 100K impressions.
one of her top tweets has 725K views. Just using that we've paid her 7 bucks.
Y’all still haven’t learned that we just can’t cut off red states because some of the most vulnerable, who have been fighting the good fight, live in these states?
This is probably not a hot take, esp for people who read the books (I didn't) but the Tyrells were really the smartest most cunning characters and killing them really feels like lazy writing after setting up these people who obviously would win and you don't want them to.
Did we ever confront the fact that author belongs to a church that actively hates lgbtq people? Cuz I don’t remember us dealing with that and it feels like we are just glossing over that?
Some of you might be tired of hearing this but I hit the USA TODAY bestsellers list and I know I’m one of few Black and queer authors to do it (idk how many but I know it’s far less common than white authors)! And I’ll always have that. I did that. I did it.
Quick reminder: blanket saying you won’t read books by ken is well and good until you remember doing so deeply effects authors of color, transmasc authors and lgbtq authors.
Just…remember this. Please? We aren’t all privilege cis white men writing about divorces.
Idk how to explain to white people what its like being Black in publishing and now I'm just going to send them this trailer.
I also want to take every white publisher and rent out a theatre and just stare at them whilst they watch this movie.
BEHOLD! The trailer for American Fiction,

I promise, it’s pretty spooky & pretty great.
I have an honest to god question and I'd LOVE to hear from Indigenous people.
Do...acknowledgements we are on stolen land...do anything?
Like, so many orgs say them...and then what? We go about our day? Like? It feels so performative? Am I wrong?
Being paid in a quarter model is a death sentence.
Quarter on signing
Quarter on delivery
Quarter on pub
Quarter 6-12 months after pub.
This means even with a 100k deal, that’s 75-60k after taxes & agent cut. Split over 3 years (let’s be optimistic)
That’s 25-20k/yr
Sometimes dreams do really come true.
I didn’t think seeing my queer Black, syfy romance in hardcover would hit me so hard but 🤷🏿!
YESTERDAY IS HISTORY debuts Feb 2 & your preorder would mean the world.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. ❤️❤️
we really dont talk enough anymore about how a bad agent is worse than no agent.
and yes, the good agents are becoming harder and harder to find and more swamped, and i truly am sorry for new authors, but i repeat: a bad agent is worse than no agent. waiting is better.
Not to tag the author cuz I’m a bit of a Stan and nervous but I have never been as excited for a book as I am knowing THE BONE HOUSES is waiting for me when I get home.
I love stand alone fantasy so so much. It’s accessible it’s beautiful and this story is just. So me & so good.
I should be able to see lovr without it being a joke. tender scenes that if they were MxF would have gotten awws, got laughs. Snide belly laughs.
What does this teach gay youth? If even conventionally hot white men are laughed at?
Seeing gay love matters. We aren’t a sideshow.
Sorry but
#RedWhiteAndRoyalBlue
is good and enjoyable and yes there are problems but name a perfect rom com it doesn’t exist this is good mindless fun and hopefully if it makes one gay kid feel better about themselves; then that’s a win in my book no matter my feelings.
just gonna say it cuz i know a lot of people are feeling it.
its super triggering and shameful how when marginalized authors make one mistake ppl jump to "i always knew they were bad" or "they deserve to never do x again" or the many versions of vitriol thrown at us.
yet 1/2
There is a sax player playing “ding dong the witch is dead” in Brooklyn and we have no choice but to laugh and cry cuz the evil has been VANQUISHED.

This seems like a good day to dump without anyone noticing how I’m not writing anymore rom coms with berkley and canceled my next book contract because the reception I got from white often female readers was truly awful & ruined me.
Maybe I’ll come back to the genre. Who knows
Hey. Doom scrolling won’t help you right now. It will only make things worse. You deserve peace.
Do what you need to do to stay safe and sane. The fight will be here tomorrow. We will get through this scary time, one way or another. I promise.
I love you. Say it back.
❤️❤️❤️
Listen, i didn't hit the NYT but i knew that was a crap shoot (and honestly, is so hard to get seen by queer BIPOC authors).
But the USA TODAY? being placed in the top 38% of books sold last week? For a queer black book about generational trauma, homophobia and power? Is a win.
I'm So Not Over You earned out within 1 year of publication.
Thank you every single person who took a chance on this book, on me, on a queer black rom com that talks about class and race & doesn't shy away from the tough parts of gayness
I...am speechless and so honored. Truly.
Y’all would never police a white woman like you do a Black woman just trying to do right by her family. You all are so damn annoying, I’m so fed up with white women, always going back to “well I…”
Go back to talking about how you are the daughter of witches or something.
My 15 year old niece told me she likes reading Tessa Bailey and I nearly fainted…
Y’all. Please send age appropriate romance suggestions. I’m going to preorder Thalia’s and Rebekah’s YA romances. I don’t care if there is sex in it, it needs to be age-respectful sex. LORDT!
🚨 BOOK NEWS! 🚨
I’m SO stoked to say my 2nd YA, ALL KINGDOMS MUST FALL, a story starring a Black queer boy & POC teens who stand up against advanced-tech exoskeleton armored police officers, an impenetrable dome & corrupt officials, will be published by
