The main focus of our research group is the role of immune system, in particular Tregs, in the pathophysiology of Myeloid malignancies, including MDS & MPN.

In past 2 days, we had our annual #i4MDS meeting in The Hague. Great discussions with colleagues about the role of the immune system in MDS and novel findings. Three years ago, when we founded this group, I never expected this level of progress and collaboration. Truly delighted.

Huge congratulations to Antonio Curti and his team for this remarkable work. The research proposes EV-based liquid biopsy as a noninvasive tool for metabolic stratification, and targeting the glutathione-GPX4 axis and metabolic dependencies in #AML.

A very interesting paper to read. They have shown that that canakinumab’s on-target effects in hematopoietic populations expressing the IL-1β receptor decreased the TNF-mediated inflammatory signaling pathway but only in the context of lower genetic complexity.
