📢 Open Letter to Withdraw the White Paper
Dear
@PresidencyZA
&
@HomeAffairsSA
,
On behalf of Kopanang Africa Against Xenophobia (KAAX) and 115 organizations across South Africa and the broader African continent, we draw your immediate attention to the attached open letter.
Apparently a few Operation Dudula supporters are now OPENLY advocating for a DOMPAS system - there you have it..
We have no words for
#OperationDudompas
The new White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration, and Refugees aims to overhaul current laws but at what cost? Human rights organizations raise alarms about constitutional violations and withdrawal from international conventions. Stand with us to protect human rights in SA.
#KAAX
at the Yeoville Market yesterday - a few people from
#OperationDudula
tried to institute their
#Dompas
ideas and loot from small businesses. However they did not success as we were united as Africans - and defended the traders. OD they eventually left, discouraged and defeated.
Zimbabwe Exemption Permit holders granted a further 12 month reprieve by the Pretoria High Court. The Minister of Home Affairs failed to follow a fair process in cancelling the permit regime.
March against Xenophobia
Taking place SATURDAY 26th, Johannesburg, 9am - Peter Roos Park
•Our struggle is against xenophobic violence and all forms of division and hatred
•Our struggle is to build unity and solidarity as we fight for human dignity and decent work for all
Migrants boost SA's economy! 🚀For every employed migrant, 2 jobs are created for locals. (Migration Labour Market 2019)Migrants have a 7% higher employment rate. (
@issafrica
Report Immigration Myths)They contribute 9% to GDP! (ISS Report Immigration Myths)
📢 How can you support a policy that denies children, innocent souls, their right to education? The White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration, and Refugee Protection threatens the future of children by limiting their access to schools. Stand up for their rights!
All over the country ordinary people in South Africa will take to the street and demand decent jobs for all, an end to austerity, and to unite as Africans against racism, capitalism, sexism, classism, and xenophobia.

Kopanang Africa Against Xenophobia (KAAX) Statement on Fake ‘News' and Targeting of Our Activists as we Build Towards the 21 March Demonstration
#OperationDudula
must stop tampering with our posters and spreading FAKE news
Media Release by Kopanang Africa Against Xenophobia - KAAX
KAAX is deeply concerned by the reckless use of social media to try and blame ‘foreign nationals’ for the recent tavern killings.
The evidence suggestions that we cannot blame foreigners for crime - "The problem with targeting people because of their profile rather than because they are committing specific crimes, is that it has little, if any, impact on public safety..."
Migrants in South Africa fear rising xenophobia after the country’s shift to a multi-party government. Anti-migrant rhetoric during elections is fueling tensions.
🌍 World Refugee Day 🌍
Let's celebrate the incredible contributions refugees make to our society! From boosting economic growth to enriching our culture, refugees bring immense value to our communities. 💚

📢Did you know?
Migrants = 6.5% of SA's population & commit fewer crimes than locals. It's time to debunk myths and fight xenophobia!

Its over 10years since the release of the
@SAHRCommission
2009 report on the 2008 xenophobic violence in SA and 4years since the SAHRC conducted their 2018 hearings into xenophobia.
Yet to date those hearings &recommendations have not been enforced, & xenophobic violence...
This election, let's vote for leaders who value inclusivity and reject black on black hate. Together, we can build a united South Africa.
