I start by recording a reference video of myself performing the move from both the front and side. Then, I send it to Paul from MoCap Central, who jumps into his mocap suit and recreates the move 1:1. He then sends me the first pass of the animation, which I test in-game. If it looks good and works for the intended gameplay, Paul refines it, and delivers the final polished animation.

Agreed. For the game, hand positioning will be determined by the animation rather than the exact length of the sword’s grip. This means the left hand might sometimes rest directly on the pommel, while other times, if the grip is longer, it will be positioned slightly higher. However, we are ensuring that the right hand is always placed just below the guard.
