Are you ready for more? Another wintry mess will move in Saturday after 1PM bringing another round of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

Think of it as a layer cake, and freezing rain is all about a wedge of warmer air aloft that changes a snowflake to rain.. and then it freezes on contact.

We're waking up to freezing rain and a glazing of ice throughout the area... travel with caution!

Freezing rain moves in overnight and will last through the morning commute, wrapping up from west to east between 9am and Noon.

Up to 1/4" of ice is possible Thursday morning due to freezing rain. Not only will that make for slick travel but power outages are also possible.
