The nightingales are singing in earnest at #KneppWildland this weekend. Local resident, Ryan Greaves, captured this beautiful clip of one perched in a tree singing, on his daily exercise walk. #nightingale #redlist @SussexOrnitholo @SussexWildlife

Last week we watched our first Exmoor foal of the season take its first wobbly steps into the rewilding project! This hardy little pony will play an important role in maintaining our dynamic natural habitats in years to come. #rewilding #exmoorpony #kneppwildland

In celebration of #Internationaldayofforests we're sharing Knepp's dynamic woodland pasture 🌳 Here, the battle between the two opposing forces of nature – animal disturbance and vegetation succession – generates habitat complexity and biodiversity. #rewilding

These soil samples were all taken from within 100 yards of each other. From left to right, they were collected from an arable field, rewilded grassland and rewilded scrubland. You can see the transition from sludgy clay to rich, crumbly soil. #rewilding #carbon #soil

Our curious herd of free-roaming Exmoor ponies, attracted by the rewilded garden, made a cheeky dash through the gate whilst the tractor came in this morning... #rewilding #exmoorponies #wildhorses #kneppwildland #gardenvisitors #gardeninspiration

Exmoors are armoured for the harshest conditions ❄️ They grow an insulating woolly under-layer beneath an outer coating of long, water-resistant oily hair, and their eyelids are insulated with fatty pads to deflect rain and snow. #Exmoorpony #rewilding #kneppwildland

Marvellous mustelids! This adorable footage from the stoat-ally brilliant Ryan Greaves captured here at Knepp is exciting for several reasons, not least because according to the @Mammal_Society these superb small mammals are in decline.

The beaver lodge is nearing three metres in height and continuing to grow 🦫 As the water level in their pond rises, the beavers continually elevate the lodge so it stays dry inside. #beavers #reintroduction #rewilding
