We're pleased to share the details of an Ofsted report which recognises “significant improvements” at our school. Inspectors were complimentary about students’ behaviour in lessons during the two day inspection last December and have judged this as “good”.

The Year 7 girls football team's performance was incredible in a seven-a-side football tournament against local schools. Such great teamwork shown, with an abundance of determination and aspiration to be their best. They showed us what great students we have at our school.

Great to have 20 students out playing at lunch time at Year 7 football club. Overall attendance at clubs has been really good this term and lovely to see.

Year 7 students are doing extremely well with their languages this term. We were particularly impressed with these German posters on the theme “All About Me" by Mollie, George, Olivia, Izzy, Stan, Eleanor, Laura, Arabella, William and Matilda. Keep up the good work!

The Year 8 football team beat Court Fields School 7-5, in an exciting game. Goals came from Theo (6) and Ace (1). Every player played superbly well and they thoroughly deserved the win.

The U15s played in an indoor cricket tournament tonight. Unfortunately they didn't progress to the next stage, but their skills improved throughout the matches. What a lovely group of girls and encouraging that six of them will be able to play again in next year's tournament.

Good luck to Noah M in Year 9, who will be representing England at the Dance World Cup 2025 finals later this year. The 13 year old qualified in three soloist categories: lyrical, contemporary and ballet.

Great to hear about Year 10's Dougal G and his acting successes outside school. He has just finished a run in Wellington panto. He was judged by Somerset Drama, whose feedback said he was a “talented youngster”. Dougal's next role is Freddie the drummer at Wellesley Theatre.

Our Year 7 Science Club has been looking at the environment. They have been preparing butterfly feeders for the spring and made some bird feeders. Today they went outside to hang them up and they look amazing. Well done Science Clubbers!

Our Year 8 and Year 9 football teams played against each other, in a closely fought match. Year 9 just edged it to take the win. Well done to all who took part.

Our Year 7 football team put on a great performance at their first tournament. They played some great matches and had a mixture of wins, draws and losses. It was brilliant to see how they encouraged and supported each other. Keep it up girls, you are amazing.

A brilliant opportunity this half term. The programme at Richard Huish College is linked to Bristol Bears and the England U18 player development group for Cornwall, Devon and Somerset - so well worth getting involved with.
