I care more about building and understanding where we're starting from. You'd rather crap on everything in sight than have an objective take. It's year 1, and we had probably the worst reputation of any power conference school for an incoming HC... Can't build it in a day, or a year. My expectations were to not be complete garbage in year 1, and be competitive in year 2. Next year, I'll be much more critical.

If I'm lucky enough to have our team be that good... I'll buy a round of Malört for us to commiserate. A job opportunity from a top program isn't bolting... It's a natural progression. Teams are lucky to hold on to top coaches (UConn, etc).

A decent job being a S16? I'd say that was better than decent. Continuing probably works for 1-2 years... But years 2-3 is all him. Can't deny him the credit. Brad didn't coach them in 16-17'... Chris did. I'm just saying I think it's overblown hate.

@kjmac111 @BigEastSavant2 So why hate on Chris? I've seen plenty of people hate on Lavall when we hired him. Sounds like a great guy, and I can confirm that Chris is a great human being. The hate on both is misplaced.

@kjmac111 @BigEastSavant2 I've heard that Lavall couldn't coach... so which is it? Holtmann gave you a S16, and 'allegedly' Lavall squandered a great deal of talented players. How about be nice to both of them. Neither of them are Ed Cooley. That's all that matters.
