Gutted that today is the last day of 707s on the SW! Absolute beauties to work as a guard (apart from occasionally closing the doors on myself🤷🏻♂️). Worked my last one on Monday and had a little bash on Tuesday when I’d finished work

Go to pass up to Waterloo a bit earlier due to disruption, phone call from the DRM saying nothing is stopping at Wimbledon so come back to depot. Get told that they’ll get a train to stop at the Staff Halt to pick a group of us up.

Today was definitely needed. A day on trains, going over some places I’ve not been to for a while and some I’ve never done before. Plenty of chats with train crew and laughs with them too, especially with the disruption that has gone on. Back to the grind tomorrow evening!

Always enjoy the job I’ve just done. Track circuit failure around Raynes Park and a signalling issue just beyond Surbiton made for an interesting trip down to Cobham via the New Line, but a top Wimbledon driver meant on time (if not early) into most stops on the way down💪🏻🚂
