So true! @PDawgzGG Who else will be my #scientific #thinking buddy to #tango ideas with!? Thank goodness I have @MSFTCopilot during after hours 😉
The good idea comes when one person feels comfortable enough to say something that might make them look stupid and their friend is open enough to recognize its potential.

100% agree! Give credit where credit is due. Also, it is the role of the PI to encourage this culture. Part of being a "skilled" scientist is to be resourceful. i.e. seek the right help when you're lacking specific knowledge/expertise and acknowledge properly That is the key to
Postdocs do a lot of invisible labor in academia. The majority of which is helping PhD students. Many of us are happy to do it, but when students fail to acknowledge that help, especially in front of the PI, it kinda kills the vibe. Give people credit for their work.

Don't make #fun of Basic Science, it's #fun-damental! E.g. What ultimately led to the discovery of #smallRNAs & #RNAi !? (Nobel prizes 2006 & 2024 for miRNASs) Investigating tobacco #plant's #antiviral response by an #Australian (Prof. Peter Waterhouse a.k.a. my PhD
It seems easy to make fun of basic science – for example why would you want to study bacterial immune systems? But then you would have to admit that that’s exactly what led to the discovery of using CRISPR as an insanely good technology for genome engineering.

Haha! Wow, where can we get this metric for @nhmrc & @arc_gov_au grants!? Next research project: Investigate if #lastminute grant submissions accelerate aging 😂
If you submit your grants last minute, you're in good company. Half of the applications were submitted in the last two days, in the 2005 NIH Pioneer grant cycle. The red bars indicate the awardees; one of them submitted just 8 minutes before the deadline.

New work reveals the impact of anxiety & depression on PhD students. "Anxiety and depression can have a substantially detrimental impact on graduate students’ experiences [..] and likely also contribute to increased time to degree and student attrition." https://t.co/iNitLTuagj

Wow, this is cooool! It'll take me a while to fully fathom, but fantastic stuff! Kudos to @SiyuHe7 et al. Far-reaching implications & many ways/situations to smartly apply this powerful model I bet! Exciting! #organoids #scRNAseq

🐙We are thrilled to share #Squidiff, a conditional diffusion model, which generates new transcriptomes that represent distinct cellular states, and its application to cell differentiation and drug perturbation https://t.co/tTtN5is6kB 1/🐙

This is the TRUE #legacy that you leave behind when all is said & done. The one that matters the most. The #people you have #influenced (positively/negatively) & how they'll remember you as. My #motto: don't be a jerk & simply to treat people as how I'd like to be treated.

Always a cringe when you see yourself, but appreciate @TwistBioscience for getting the critical public message across! Replace targeted #PCR #serology for diagnosing viral infections. Use ONE pan-viral #metagenomics (many genomes) test! End #Diagnostic #Oddysey See @DelveBio
