Anand Teltumbde's writings must be engaged with by everyone interested in India's future. He critiques powerfully the narrow identitarianism and economism embedded in most strands of the #Bahujan and #Left movements. We may disagree with him here and there. Still, he is one of the foremost iconoclasts in India today who is asking penetrating questions that can break the current impasse of transformative movements.

Glad to meet and learn from Mr. Martin Macwan, the renowned Dalit human rights activist in Pune today. Mr. Macwan received the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award in 2000, and in the same year, Human Rights Watch named him one of the year's five "outstanding human rights defenders."
