@educatedignored @GerHerbert1 @buckser23 @RTE_PrimeTime Not a simple question to answer, to be frank. Given the rapid evolution of the technology, many units are designed to be upgraded rather than to fall into obsolescence. Some sites have replaced older EV chargers with new faster units before the first ever paid for themselves.

@educatedignored @GerHerbert1 @buckser23 @RTE_PrimeTime It can take 10-12 years to break even on installing ultra-fast chargers so hardly gouging.

@educatedignored @GerHerbert1 @buckser23 @RTE_PrimeTime No irony. Fossil fuels can't continue to be the basis of Ireland's energy plans or our business strategies . That's why a greater proportion of forecourts offer EV charging in Ireland than in any other EU Member State and why we support more advanced, synthetic and biofuels.

@NornEye @GerHerbert1 @buckser23 @RTE_PrimeTime Erm... No. 🤣 I work for Fuels for Ireland, the industry association for forecourt operators, fuel distributers, importers and refiners. I pay for my own car - and all the energy it uses. Thanks for your interest. 😂

@GerHerbert1 @buckser23 @RTE_PrimeTime I'm 20k kms and 8 months into EV ownership. No off-street parking so no home charging. Admittedly, my car has a higher than average range (600km max) but it is perfectly feasible to rely on the public charging network. And I'm CEO of the national fuels industry association...

Jesus but #TheOutrun is an awesome movie! Saoirse Ronan is simply superb. The sadness is heartbreaking and the joy overwhelming. Absolutely beautiful.

@paulcolgan @VirginMediaNews Sorry to hear that Paul. I always marvel at how you combine genuine expertise with clear communication. You made the economically illiterate (me) feel like they got it. No doubt you will continue to excel in your next gig.

@longbren @greenparty_ie All true, Brendan. I think they made a number of serious errors (some strategic, more tactical and many attitudinal in my opinion), but fundamentally, I believe they have been a force for good.

Given Gerry Hutch has been issued a Garda Information Message to the effect that his life is under threat, what would the implications of him taking a seat in Dail Eireann be for Oireachtas security?
