@metaspaceperson @DejectedDan @ggreenwald In fact, just telling the bank that you are going to constant the CFPB can often be enough to get your money back. Why should we make it harder for Americans to access resources when they’ve been defrauded or victimized?

@NexxMeta @mmpadellan @elonmusk I’ve been using AI with my job for 3 years and I still have to fact check the output. Not to mention there are consequences when people think they can replace human reasoning with the limitations of AI.

@roberthendricks @elonmusk My father in law performs audits alllll the time. You know who does audits? Accountants. You know who doesn’t join him on audits? Coders. If the plan was to actually audit our agencies most of us would be all for it. This is nowhere near an audit.

@Nokata8613 @desterado @kwwcb @MarioNawfal I’m sorry, are you 12 years old? The CFPB exists bc banks and loan agencies created a housing crash that destroyed our entire economy and ushered in an economic depression leaving people homeless and jobless. That affected ALL of us.

@Nokata8613 @desterado @kwwcb @MarioNawfal CFPB keeps these entities in line. And if they step out of line, CFPB gives you resources to make it right. In January alone they sued Equifax for falsifying credit investigations, Capital One for not paying out on high interest accounts, Vanderbilt for predatory loans, and more.

@Nokata8613 @desterado @kwwcb @MarioNawfal CFPB files lawsuits on consumers behalf! Normal people can’t afford these lawsuits on their own. The entire reason CFPB came to be was because there was no one specific office watching the banking, credit, and loan agencies. That lack of oversight led to the 2008 crash.

@JarQueDav @hubermanlab @NIH @PeterAttiaMD My family has a genetic neurodegenerative disease called Huntingtons. You actually have to pass a psych eval to even get tested for it. It’s like having Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, prion disease, and a personality disorder. If you cure HD, you can treat a lot of other things.

@March111992 @jmart The safety of Americans who served Democrat and Republican administrations (including Trump 1.0) is none of our concern??? Do you hear yourself? These programs are essential to improving US image among ppl who have been hurt by our wars and to limit China/Russia’s influence.

@RyteWynger @VigilantFox @BehizyTweets @annamlulis The thing about the weight loss meds they sell is that they actually DO require lifestyle and diet change. Those medications just make it easier to make those changes and stick with it.

@TruismsT @PaulMumm @Halalcoholism Here is a pretty good explanation of the oversight USAID goes through to spend money (including how it was spend by Trump Admin 1.0).

OK, time to bust another @USAID myth. Stephen Miller said on Fox today that USAID is a rogue slush fund. Trump & Elon have made the same accusation. FALSE. They're either ignorant of how USAID spends money, or willfully lying about it. Or... Anyway, caffeinate and read on. 🧵

@TruismsT @PaulMumm @Halalcoholism Biden was pushed out of his own campaign bc media reporting. The laptop was reported too but there were issues w legitimacy due to chain of custody. USAID is pretty much a non-story until DOGE made it one. You may not like what they put money toward but it’s approved by congress.

@TruismsT @PaulMumm @Halalcoholism It’s quite literally the media’s job to report on things that concern Americans, including ppl who work in government doing shady shit. These guys were not given a traditional vetting. I mean one of them was literally fired for selling secrets to his company’s competitor!

@TruismsT @PaulMumm @Halalcoholism We don’t have to fire all shit posters but the US government should have standards for ppl who can literally ruin our lives with the info they have access to. If he doesn’t have the impulse control to not say racist shit on the internet, he’s not fit for that role.

@esjesjesj This is all about manufacturing consent, like they did with the NIH & CFPB. - Suggest there is massive fraud w/out evidence - Cut programs that protect the bottom 99% - Claim cuts were necessary bc “fraud” - Everyone praises you despite being harmed - Do it again to Medicaid
