@JoniSweet These conversations are so valuable! We host live calls every Friday in Pitchcraft for this exact purpose - getting feedback from others on PR pitches. The surprising thing is that sometimes those outside your direct field can offer the best perspective.

Where are the #freelancewriters and Substack writers covering holiday gifts / writing roundups for publications this year? Tag them in this thread

@NicolePajer Not just you. I've been noticing this for months and wrote this blog about it back in March - it's gotten bad!

@PRcarly If you mark an email as spam in Gmail, a new (to me) feature now asks you if you want to block someone - in one click. I imagine lots of journalists do.

Honestly this is a really good question for PR pros to consider asking their clients, too. They're the experts, in the weeds of business every day... let them tell you what the stories are, then you can shape them.
"Anything I didn't ask about that maybe you wish I had?" That's the last question I ask on every SME interview I run. Nine times out of 10, this is what happens: "No I don't think so...." Then they think for a minute. And then they drop the best bit of knowledge or the best quote from the entire interview. They're the expert, after all. Not you. Give them a chance to lead the conversation and see where they take you. Your content will be better for it.

@AKnisleyMatth Whew! Gift guides or travel destinations, probably makes sense. What was it for?

@sonyabarlowuk Yes, totally agree about adding useful links to drive people elsewhere. The purpose of OOO is to communicate you're gone, so when I see messages saying "little to no email access" does that mean people are trying to convince themselves not to check?😆 True vacation = unplugged!
