Texture in your timing/spacing. Music is boring if everything is a quarter note and animation is no different. As soon as someone explained it that way, timing/spacing clicked for me.

The computer doesn’t “make things easy” or “do the work for you.” On a good day it’s just the tool you use to do the work. On a bad day it feels like an adversary who is *actively attempting* to prevent you from getting things done.

“Generalists” are people that are well rounded in many areas and can do a little of everything - model/light/texture/rig/etc. On a small team especially you’ll end up doing a variety of things because of limited manpower, so having more than one skill set helped me.

You can’t create your best work when you’re exhausted and too tired to think straight, so pulling all-nighters and working insane hours is actually counterproductive. Walk away, get some sleep, tackle it in the morning with a well rested brain.

The beautiful thing about making art is that it has no age. Start out as a kid? Cool. Start out as an adult? No problem. Want to do it just as a creative outlet? Awesome. Professional artist? Do it. So many options and media to choose from. Literally something for everyone.
"but i'm not fast" - then draw slow. "but i don't draw often" - then draw when you want. "but i don't draw good" - then draw bad.
you do not need to be Fast or Good or Constantly Churning out Art. do it your way, do it passionately. we all grow at our own pace. you will grow too
