The Govt's recent position on nature is deeply concerning. Nature cannot be seen as an afterthought or an obstacle to development; it is central to our economic growth. Pleased to see @BeccyRSPB's strong message in The Times this week. @Natures_Voice

@meloni1961 Agree, it's small but very beautiful! Very kind of you to ask - work has increased but I'm particularly enjoying the environmental and political content in the course so far.

Enjoyed catching up with the fantastic @raman_nij in Birmingham on Friday. It was wonderful to learn about her recent work to improve youth engagement in nature, and talk conservation, campaigning and urban wildlife!

Watching the #CANBill debate online this afternoon. It's refreshing to see such constructive debate on climate and nature in the Commons. It is equally heartening to see considerable cross-party support for the Bill - let's hope it can get the Bill to the next stage!

Spent the day at @RSPBSandwell, a stone's throw away from central Birmingham. Highlights included Teals and Goldeneyes, but the most memorable was a flock of gulls fighting with three Goosanders!

On Tuesday I visited the gardens of St James's Church, a peaceful green pocket on Piccadilly. A chance to escape the hustle and bustle of Mayfair, it's filled with the song of Robins, Blue and Great Tits. The gardens are managed for biodiversity by the wonderful @ecoSJP.

Apologies for misunderstanding this article. A clarification: while the govt claims that the decision to shelve Beaver releases is untrue, the publishing of the framework for releases has been delayed and, the suggestions from this article are still concerning.
First the Natural History GCSE, now Beavers. Both shelved by the current govt, simply because they were backed by the previous govt. Both policies have immense potential to improve our relationship with nature. Nature shouldn't be party political.
