Rance 02 - The Rebellious Maidens
6/10
This remake was an obvious downgrade in every single way compared to the first installment remake. Rance amounted to nothing more than a healer and the only attack option is spamming Rance's Special Attack. CG art took a nosedive and-
Sorry to say this but this is technically wrong for an animation as it borders the line of an illustration and unfortunately it makes it look jank. There's ways to make the drawings appealing without adding too much details but the staff seems pretty strict on
I’ve seen some people saying we used AI in the trailer, hope this little timelapse show some of them that we are doing this frame by frame, there’s a lot of work put into this.

capturing the essence of the manga through details alone and frankly it's just not gonna work so well as the drawings will just turn out poor due to the high demand and it doesn't look good once it moves because of this tunnel vision of focusing on details.
I would recommend studying how animators draw and work on simplifying the designs/forgo unnecessary details when it comes to the final product, that way the product doesn't become a mimicry effort of animation done by illustrators.
tldr: priority should be focusing on the animation itself and break away from sticking to the manga mindset! It's a different medium and you shouldn't be shy to experiment!
@atlowaly
Exactly my problem with the berserk fan animation community as they're all in this herd mindset of capturing the manga 1:1 which is unfortunately egged on by the previous adaptation. If I were to recommend one person for this project to take notes from it would be AllinAll
@Hagaren_art
Considering it's either the director or the animation director that greenlights the Genga to move on to the next stage, I would recommend speaking up to them about the possibility of simplifying the work so it's easier on the artists involved. From how I see it, a lot of the-
@Hagaren_art
animators on the project are amateurs especially when there's underage members involved. This project should be a great stepping stone for these young members but they are not getting the learning experience they need when the head of the project is inexperienced in this medium.
@Brian_Kuro
I understand that it's great for practicing but putting it into a product you claim as your own is morally dubious. Though I don't think plagiarism matters that much in an industry that prioritizes sending out products in time.
@Hagaren_art
My advice in short is seeking veteran animators that can supervise the project somewhat, I get that there's a lot of ambition involved but it's pretty amateurish so far.

No they have completely different production lines, I'm hoping the Urusei Yatsura team comes back and do it since they did part 5 which was the best production jojo ever had.
I feel like I'm losing interest in anime when discussions devolve into "cinema" or "mid/garbage" and listing off staff members. I want to see people discuss about anime without mentioning "sakuga" for at least one second and appreciate the storytelling and discuss how you felt.
@Samaaboi
Well considering that this project is filled with young animators that will likely want to make their first step towards entering the industry, the results shown here is not gonna fly by in actual productions and they will be asked to do a retake until they get it right.
Nakayama's restricted direction hindered the anime's potential so much. Even he couldn't inhibit the ideas he wanted to display on screen most of the time.
I feel the pain knowing that Biscuit Hammer suffered the same with the sudden director drop out, the production is basically doomed at that point and the remaining staff is left to salvage whatever they can with tighter schedules. Very unfortunate stroke of bad luck.
Hello everyone.
In the last Days, I got in contact with a person who works on the Sasakoi Anime. In this thread I will leak problematic working conditions, schedules of doom, miscommunication, scummy behaviour regarding Yokohama and Cloudhearts and much more.
You in for a ride.
I really dig Rurouni Kenshin (2023). It solidifies itself as a coherent narrative piece with its own strengths that sets itself apart from the previous adaptation. Taking upon a newer original arc to slide within the main story was a huge plus as well.
Since Manga Mogura wants to cover it up without admitting their mistakes, here's their post that misinterpreted Yuugen's tweets in his ambition to create a "fan" project inspired by Texhnolyze.

@Hagaren_art
It just seems like those animators are not in any supervising positions on the project. The pipeline seems unstructured to begin with as each scene looks very different from the previous.
Apparently Ranma is paced very well so when considering the length of the original series... This is bound to be MAPPA's longest project yet with an estimate 11 cours.
"Chainsaw Man" creator Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Sayonara Eri" ANIME MOVIE POTENTIALLY UPCOMING!
There is a new web domain "Eri-Movie dot com" which looks legit, Name Server fits too. However nothing confirmed, it's just my speculation at this point. I would advise keeping an eye on
Oh my lord, I know it's impossible to keep this quality for a full length adaptation but I hope if it does come, there will be memerizing scenes like this here...
Japans new Prime Minister is a big fan of Demon Slayer (especially akaza) and promised to boost the income for people working in the Anime and Manga industry
Asakawa needs to just block and move on, let the dying fans mumble about their loss. Revisiting his trauma isn't going to do him any favors, moving on will.

Unless their intentions are otherwise, then sure they don't have to strictly follow how professionals work, but if they plan on entering a professional environment then they should learn from these mistakes and grow.
Thoughts on the Berserk Trailer by Studio Eclypse
A really cool presentation that is meant to stir hype however I believe the trailer is very inconsistent and suffers hiccups from the designs being too similar to an illustration (which should only be used as a postcard memory)
Just watched the original version and while admittedly the ost and atmosphere may have been better, I didn't really dig how dark it looked and the sound effects suck in comparison. It really did feel more intense in the moments of this adaptation.
