I've been told twice just today that me being gay is a choice. I was like, "Yeah. I totally chose my sexuality so I can consistently be told variations of me being hellbound, depraved, demon possessed, and disgusting. It's my favorite." 😐

Has it occurred to non affirming Christians that us gays know we're gay, have heard and studied all the scriptures about it, and have prayed about it? Why would we need internet strangers to try and hash out our own lives for us?

I think relinquishing the need for accountability in my parents' history for how they treated me was crucial for my healing. I just kept waiting for something that would never happen instead of focusing on myself.

As a child watching my dad become a UMC layperson, I decided I wanted to preach, too. As I grew up and realized I'm gay, I felt that dream slip away because my beloved UMC didn't allow it.
Today, the ban on LGBT+ clergy has been lifted. My dream is here. Praise God!

Allegedly, one year a particular off duty patrol officer and coworker of mine ended up with glitter in her vehicle vents with the AC on full blast when she turned the vehicle on. The reaction was priceless and is still one of my favorites to this day. Allegedly.

Interestingly, every single person I've ever encountered that's been "delivered" from a sexuality other than straight has admitted they still experience same gender attraction. So it would make sense that some do choose to be straight.

Lots of projection going on in your statement. I don't know who needs to hear this, but children don't owe their parents anything, including a relationship. If a child has grown up and gotten to the point that it's no longer safe to have that relationship, it's valid to end it.
