Fun fact about me: I use a ā€˜teenagersā€™ wheelchair. Itā€™s tiny. 23inches wide. If Iā€™m struggling to get through these ā€œgapsā€, they are completely impassable for most wheelchair users and visually impaired people with dogs. Pavements must be kept clear enough for pedestrians.

Our Parliament is listening to 'evidence' from American assisted death advocates, and only one (invited last minute, reluctantly) representative of disabled peoples' orgs.

But! American assisted death advocates joining online said feeling a burden is a legitimate reason to want to die, and we should respect patients' autonomy if that's what they want.

Agree with this ā€˜delivery appā€™ take. Disability justice must be intersectional. Accessibility that is based on the exploitation of vulnerable workers is not justice. We must demand, fight for, and build better solutions!

Itā€™s the last week of term and in a stunning display of irony Iā€™ve just had to miss my last ā€œCities, Space & Powerā€ lecture because when I arrived at Kingā€™s Cross station the lift was out! The alternative journey would have taken >1 hour, so Iā€™ve gone home. Powerless indeed!

There's a million more things I could link to but I think that will do for now. Disabled people, all over the world, are organising, creating, resisting, and reimagining futures. We must keep going. Solidarity with crips everywhere āœŠ #InternationalDayOfDisabledPeople

@bencsmoke Pam's tweet you've QT does not claim the Bill has passed. She is expressing her feelings of being heartbroken and sending love to the disabled community, who are dismayed at this development.
