Volumes or not, what provided cobalt for your phone, laptop and other batteries? Why have you got morals now? Just so you know, I know where the cobalt for my two EVs came from, because I read the manufacturers impact statements, you on the other hand watch a YouTube video and become an armchair expert and start chucking your slander around. Think this through for a minute. 74% of the worlds cobalt comes from the DMC, so you actually think kids are digging 142,000 tonnes of it out of the ground each year? It’s a multibillion pound operation that requires heavy machinery, processing facilities and mass transportation, all carries out by kids. Something else to consider is the recycling availability from old EVs. You can’t recycle the stuff for FF’s though, but I don’t suppose that matters to you since your grew some morals either 🤔

@MossleyDave @Starbucks @InstaVoltUK @ElecHighway If your a high mileage user id get either an Electroverse card or a subscription to some CPOs, you could half that cost. If not, I don’t stress as home charging massively offsets it.

They’ve been mining cobalt in the DMC for over 60 years, did you care about it before electric cars became mainstream? Which impact statements and for which manufacturers have you read showing their cobalt source to be from the DMC? Do you care about the cobalt that’s used on aeroplane engines, used to remove the sulphur from fossil fuels for over 20 years or any other application? Why is it so important to have a home charger, you’ve never filled your fossil car up at home over night but now it’s a must??

You should probably stop watching propaganda like that, it’s completely incorrect. Let me show you what we mine annually. The stuff for EVs is on the far right. Oil extraction annually is 4.4 billion metric tonnes, most of which we set on fire. Also associated with burning FFs in ICE cars we have high levels of PM, FPM, NOx, SO2 and CO, this is the stuff that causes cancer. Hers a couple of things for you to digest. They’re genuinely worth a watch because you’ll be surprised.

Yep. We own a Model Y and it’s a great car, but in reality I drive a Chinese made EV for work that’s 40k cheaper, as efficient and imo, more reliable. For that reason we’ll definitely look at other options for our next car. Hopefully the new and cheaper, Chinese EVs will impact this over the coming years.

They are overpriced in many cases, that much is true, but many are at price parity now. Tedious to charge? Plug in at home overnight and it’s full in the morning. How’s is that more tedious than going to fuel station. They use quarter of the energy an ICE car uses to travel the same distance and they emit 10x less. Explain how they’re not better for the environment??

@MarkM92252942 Again that doesn’t show anything or answer the question. Here are global EV sales vs ICE. If they weren’t cheaper to run, less to maintain and better to drive I’d probably agree, but they are. Here are the facts

@GBApollo Indeed. Feedback from our customers is definitely moving towards an anti-Elon vibe. I can’t imagine his political behaviour of recents months will have a positive effect, but who knows for sure. Time will tell.

@AntiEVidiots @RichardMDown This is what happens in the real world, but sadly mainstream media has a few agendas to push

@MarkM92252942 That’s doesn’t answer the question. Because a manufacturer is falling behind the target is their issue. Some manufactures have managed it. Specifically, why is the target ridiculous?

@andrewc92164336 It has gone up, Ukraine war effect, although it’s reducing now. As we bring on more renewables this will further reduce prices.

@RoopM83 You’re not wrong, there is still some price hiking going on, but there are many models that have parity now. Second hand is the way to go in most cases.

@polwulkies You’d be incorrect on your statement, but I’m happy to chat through it. What figures are you working with to make your statement? Any links etc?

@simonheatht I’m not trying to deceive anyone, their sales were down as shown. However, we can’t ignore Tesla’s global sales figure reductions. Let’s see what happens in the coming months.

@dngrfld You’re correct. New car prices across the board are bordering on ridiculous. Second hand purchases are the way forward.
