This
@NRL
Women In League Round we will wear a jersey with the number 603 which represents the number of registered female referees across the country. We would like to thank each one of them for being involved in the game and hope this number continues to grow

The racist comments in response to articles about the anthem not being played before a game of sport proves why high profile organizations such as the
@NRL
need to take these kinds of steps.
2018 was a struggle mentally and physically but gave me the chance to ref the inaugural women’s
@NRL
GF which I’m grateful for. Thanks to those who helped me outlast the season. I appreciate it more than you know.
My boots for this
@nrl
Indigenous Round were painted by
@Thebadge72
and Cooper. The pattern for my (very long) journey, woman symbol on the front and kangaroo tracks on the side to represent never taking a backwards step.
Rape “jokes” are not funny. This includes “jokes” about someone being raped in jail. Perpetrators deserve to be locked up (for a long time), but making light of being raped takes away from what is a very real issue, and can be triggering for survivors.
Achilles op done, making it 7 surgeries in 4 years. With those stats, I may as well have stuck to playing football! Surely some good luck has to come my way soon (and hopefully I will get my bed back soon from this jerk).
When I played for

City we paid for all travel & accommodation & didnt get to keep League has come a long way in 10 years. Happy

round 2 any female who dreamed of achieving greatness in the game & who now has that opportunity

It is important to remember that the correct term is “child abuse material” (or images) and not “child pornography”. Children cannot consent to sexual images being taken or shared. Pornography is sex work, and sex work is real work.
To say that womens sport only deserves the amount of money that the sport currently brings in is naive, and ignores the historical reasons which have created the gap between mens and womens sport (thread below).
Our second grandson, Indy Badger Rae, arrived Thursday. He is a little fighter (he gets that from his poppy), after having to be resuscitated and spending his first days in NICU. He is now strong, healthy and already bringing light into this world.

Yesterday we lost our beautiful dog. We are absolutely heart broken. It still doesn’t feel real. We were so lucky to have 13.5 years of pure joy with you. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog.
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Peter Mulholland. I have always said that he is one of the greatest men I have ever met. His absolute love of the game, and the support he always gave me, will never be forgotten. Rugby League has lost an amazing man.
How do Referees deal with adversity? Tune in to this weeks
@NRL
podcast to hear about the error I made on the touch line last week and how we get through games when we know a mistake has been made.
@Thebadge72
and I also discuss some other odd rules.
If there are any female referees who will be attending the Parramatta v Penrith game tomorrow night, hit me up, I would love to be able to give my jersey away to you after the match

This is the first Rugby League game that
@Thebadge72
and I have been allowed to attend as spectators this year. We’ve definitely missed it!

It’s interesting how little I’ve heard about International Men’s Day today, given how often people ask about it on International Women’s day. And by “it’s interesting” I mean “it’s completely expected”, given it has always been a shit take.
The first week of January is child abuse awareness week, a subject very close to my heart. It’s not something I have ever put out there publicly, but I feel comfortable enough to finally…
I had a conversation with
@Thebadge72
this week saying how happy it made me to have a group of male friends who aren’t scared to say we love each other and always let each other know that we are there for them. Today has reaffirmed how important it is to have those friendships ❤️
Just a reminder that the government gave $6.7 million to the Australian National Maritime Museum to “recreate” a trip that James Cook never took on the Endeavour. Just another example of where money could have been saved to use for a better reason

A point I often try to make is about how language constructs the world in which we live. It shapes how we think. This has been very noticeable over the last week since Todd Greenberg resigned as

CEO. All of the social and media commentary around who will replace him has
I woke up early with bad heartburn, grabbed some tablets, jumped back into bed and popped the tablets out. Hearing the noise
@Thebadge72
woke abruptly asking me what I was eating. He was incredulous that I would be hiding snacks in bed.
Fellow
@NRL
ref Darian “Big D” Furner is battling a unique brain tumour. With a wife and 3 young kids, it’s obviously a tough time. If anyone out there has anything to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps ❤️

@LadiesWhoLeague
An offside player can’t come within 10m of a player waiting for the ball, but can be deemed as “passive” if they “do not influence the course of the game”, so that allows for discretion to be applied.
If you have a question you would like
@Thebadge72
and I to answer on our

Refs Round Up podcast, hit us up! We know we are running the risk of keyboard warrior responses here, but hopefully it is taken in the right manner, being aimed at League fans who have genuine questions
In the “Who is the GOAT of GOATs” debate, I am convinced that three categories are required 1. Team sport 2. Individual athlete 3. Olympian. Trying to lump them all into one category is like comparing a great actor/singer/painter just because they’re all artists.
This is not justice. This is accountability.
Justice would be dismantling structures that uphold white supremacy.
Justice would be ensuring this can never happen again.
Justice would be a comprehensive reform of policing.

Always was, always will be. Today we pay respect to those who lost their lives when this country was invaded, and to those who survived and carried on their amazing culture

been “HE will have a tough job ahead of HIM”, “should HE come from a football background or a business background?”, “how much should HE be paid”, etc etc. This type of exclusionary language is the unconscious bias which is so prevalent in society, especially within the sporting
After sitting in the shadows for so long, women are finally starting to attract some of this financial support and backing from government, big business and media.
Women deserve more, from grassroots to the elite level, in every sport.
