My first post-grad field work was a NASA-funded snowmobile traverse of the Greenland ice sheet, using GPS receivers to map the ice height & validate airborne measurements. The NY National Guard C-130 (on skis) dropped us off at (or I should say, above) Camp Century! ❄️
There’s a camp under the ice! 🤯 A new radar image captured by @NASAJPL scientists during UAVSAR instrument tests reveals structural elements of Camp Century, an abandoned U.S. military base that is now buried within the Greenland Ice Sheet.

Home, Sweet Home!!!
The @NASA_Landsat 9 satellite captured this view of cranberry bogs near Plymouth, Massachusetts. How many can you find? Hint: look for pink and red!

I was so thrilled to be able to join you all!
We're pretty excited to be joined by @NASAEarth Director @KarenStG who explains her joy doing #SeaIce research in both the #Arctic and #Antartica earlier in her career! 🤩

It is a HUGE day for @NASAEarth!! Opening day for the Earth Information Center at the Natural History Museum!!! See our home planet as it can only be seen from space - an awe-inspiring system of oceans, land, ice, atmosphere, and the life they support!
We just opened a new Earth Information Center inside the @NMNH! For over 60 years, NASA has used its constellation of satellites and instruments to observe our planet. This brand-new exhibit makes our game-changing data more understandable, accessible, and usable for all.

This was a wonderful experience, meeting the talented Yiyun Kang and celebrating yet another dimension of our partnership with Google.
At #COP28’s Water Pavilion, Dr. Karen St. Germain, Division Director for @NASA’s Earth Science division chats with “Passage of Water” artist Yiyun Kang, and partnership director of @GoogleArts Clare Brooks about using @NASAEarth data and our warming planet.
