How does bariatric surgery affect insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes⁉️ Our latest research reveals a substantial rate of complete remission, especially following BPD/DS‼️ Even in those who did not achieve full remission, insulin usage decreased significantly 📉 @MayoClinicSurg

Some of our latest research here at @MayoClinicSurg. Exploring the “double-diabetes” paradigm in patients with preoperative T1D. How do they compare to those with insulin-treated T2D? Had the pleasure of working on this manuscript with Dr. @OMGhanemMD 🤝🏻
🍯 DOUBLE DIABETES (Type1 Diabetes & obesity)🍯 #BariatricSurgery in T1D vs T2D pts on insulin 🔺Weight loss post MBS was similar for T1D & insulin-treated T2D ⬇️ in daily insulin 💉doses (140.5 to 77.5 units) 👉🏻 Do NOT hesitate to offer MBS for T1D

Masterful laparoscopic skills by Dr. 👏🏻@OMGhanemMD
Phrenic arteries have very variable anatomic origins & paths. During median arcuate ligament release, they can hide behind the ligament If bleeding : 1- key not to panic 2- Convert to open if needed 3- Have vascular support (I am lucky with having @MayoVascSurgery available)!
