Myself, Afshin, and other colleagues who have been challenging ‘Forever Wars’ & Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians for years - we’ve been consistently throttled/banned across main Big Tech platforms, placed on USAID-funded media blacklists, named in the Twitter Files (me).... we’re denied access to viral algorithms, because it's not a level playing field. Or we could simply do what the Joe Rogans and Russell Brands of the world do - which is judiciously avoid real controversy while the crime/injustice is actually happening (carefully waiting 12-18 months before weighing in like Rogan, Peterson et al did with everything; Ukraine, Covid, vaccines etc. thus avoiding any censors & fortuitously boosted by the algorithm). These ‘mainstream independents’ can all monetise, while we can't. That's how the new 'independent' media runs, more or less. And that repression of content of certain accounts continues on X. Why is that? Exactly like the Mainstream Media, more or less. Hiding war crimes, downplaying genocide. Effectively fixing editorial lines, thus controlling the Overton Window. The Establishment has successfully colonized the new ‘independent’ media space.
