@CClarkwoodson @TheFP @river_is_nice Disagree. It’s primarily a matter of widespread institutional diagnoses and electronic records. Until the 1980s, individuals who were overweight could serve in the military, and unless someone was committed to an institution, people with mild mental illnesses could join.

@Joe_Roberts01 Zionism is a complex ideology, and the one point of consensus among its supporters is that Jews have the right to self-determination in their historical homeland. While many Jews reject anti-Zionism, if you ask 10 Jews what it means to them, you‘ll probs get 11 different answers.

@JoshuaD4708665 @WuWei113 @Maytechummia @USmqsek3bkZMuQQ @Midnightcause @softwarnet @lolota599g1 @ChinasCanada @AsiaReportcom Let me let you in a secret: she/him/they/ probably aren’t a Chinese student studying in America. The picture is this grotesque AI slop - not a real person, and they speak in broken Charlie Chan Minstrelesque English. It’s very obviously a troll.

@CPTKorbenDallas @Rhodesiaonsol It was South Africa and BJ Vorster who sold them down the river. Remember his game was to keep Apartheid - even if it meant letting Rhodesia collapse. His realpolitik logic was that by cutting off arms and fuel to Rhodesia, he’d bolster South African diplomacy and security.

@prestonstew_ It’s actually surprisingly smart. Sure we’ll go back to Fort Bragg - Fort Reynold Bragg.

@denisewu Before you attack Africans and say they’re this an that: - what was sample size? - who did they ask? - how much did the participants know about the issue, its scope and its context. - where do they get their news from? I doubt your average Zambian has a hate boner for Taiwan.

@Noahpinion I concede a recruitment scheme for black engineers is too much but the military should be inclusive. There are certain policies like allowing beards (everyday shaving can lead to ingrown hair for black males), and issuing alternative headgear like Dastars as it helps retention.

@CoreyWriting But I wonder if he hates black culture and thinks it’s the worst in history when has it ever been good then? The Super Bowl IV featured Lionel Hampton and Carol Channing; there’s been a long black musical presence at the Super Bowl.

@MotronaCherkas @MemoryMedieval I don’t deny Constantinople was a light in the darkness but tell an Egyptian Christian forced to convert to Islam or an Italo-Roman whose town was razed by Lombards, or a Thracian or Illyrian whose way of life was obliterated by invaders how the bright that light shun for them?

@MotronaCherkas @MemoryMedieval I totally agree…but lets face it: the dark ages started the long defeat of the the Roman State. The defeat might have been arrested and reversed for a time but Byzantium spent most of the dark and medieval period on the defensive. It was a major actor but only rarely a hegemon.

@sigma_goon50166 @postsynapsid @NoticerIAm @NickJFuentes Orania considers itself African and they don't want to give up their modern creature life (nor Dutch Reformed Protestantism). They're explicitly Afrikaner not white separatists as muc. Think of it as an exclusive ethnic enclave. Its like a private tribal reservation.

@MemoryMedieval In Britain things damn near went back to the stone age tbf. Of course it is exaggerated, but the lack of a central, sophisticated Roman power was bad everyone from Britain to Nubia. Everyone except the Arabs who look at this period as their golden age.

@postsynapsid @sigma_goon50166 @NoticerIAm @NickJFuentes It wouldn't work. For one thing many of them are Dutch Reform Christians, who'd look dimly at paganism. Likewise they developed a creole culture in South Africa that’s unique to Southern Africa. They likely wouldn't want lose their creature comforts of modern life.

@RealDianeYap There’s a difference between ethnic enclaves and segregation enforced by state or private violence. Either way segregation is inherently wrong: it denies individual freedom and agency, draws arbitrary lines, and brands people as privileged or forbidden by an imposed identity.

@RealDianeYap You don’t think I’m angry when I see stories like this? That I don’t imagine: that could be my mother or my aunt? Here’s the real issue: when human life and innocents are treated as mere “eggs” to break, you intellectually surrender to the pathology of these delinquents.

@sigma_goon50166 @NoticerIAm @NickJFuentes Or even Botswana though farming there would be far more difficult.
