Befriended a little old lady in my apartment building when I first moved in. We would often catch up in the hallway and she’d tell me how she watches CTV every evening. She’s just down the hall...but we’re penpals now. 😊✍🏻

A massive fire, during which a crane collapsed, left several homes with damage in Vancouver’s Dunbar-Southlands neighbourhood Tuesday evening.

Instead of closing down parks like other municipalities across the Maritimes, Moncton has decided to make its trails one-way, to enforce physical distancing. Signs like these are posted at Mapleton Park, Centennial Park & Irishtown Nature Park.
This little girl stole my heart this valentines day! Destiny Leblanc was born with a rare neurological disorder called Rett syndrome. When she outgrew her wheelchair, her classmates came together to raise over $10,000 for a new one! We’ll tug your heart strings on

Let me get this straight:HRP Chief Kinsella says "I wasn't there, so I can't speak to what happened." But took the podium to speak to what happened. He can't watch through every video to see the evidence, but he saw enough evidence to decipher all actions were appropriate? Got it
Lots of emotions this week. I’m blown away by the selflessness of the heroes on the frontlines protecting us & in awe of the evacuees who are resilient after losing everything. I’m also really proud of my fellow journalists doing important work informing the public in real time.
Four thousand of these face masks were donated to the village of Cap-Pelé by an anonymous donor. One thousand were sent to Broussard, Louisiana, Cap-Pelé’s sister-city with Cajun-Acadian roots.
Ben Mowat (pictured left) has had a love for the game of basketball his whole life, but growing up with cerebral palsy didn’t pave an easy path. Despite all odds - last night he had the game of his life. A story to tug your heart strings... tonight on

Marking one year with
@CityNewsVAN
today!
One year ago, I packed up my life and made the cross-country move, to do what I love most. What a year it’s been!
Feeling grateful to work with a fantastic team, in this beautiful city. ✨
A preview of the new shelter on Albert Street in Moncton. This is the men’s “dry” section. The shelter director says there are approx. 120 beds, he plans to open in a few weeks.
My friend started “Save Me, Save We” as a reminder that mental health is far too often overlooked. Check up on your loved ones, share your struggle. You may help someone else. At the end of the day, all you have is your peace of mind...make sure you take care of it. 🖤
Had a moment of gratitude tonight, after an interview that left an impact on me. Being a journalist is such a special job. That feeling of human connection during an interview. The feeling you’re making a difference, even the smallest one…those feelings are irreplaceable.
Ralph Richardson isn’t only celebrating his 80th birthday today...he’s also our Maritimer of the Month!
He’s now walked over 100 days in his driveway for Parkinson’s Canada and raised nearly 30,000$
Well done, Ralph! 👏🏻

Back in Tantallon this morning for day 6 of wildfire coverage. After a week of hot weather and dry conditions…I’m happy to report that it’s been raining this morning.
Hundreds lined up on Moncton’s riverfront this morning for the Three Fathers Memorial Run. This event is in memory of the three fallen RCMP officers who were tragically killed by a gunman in Moncton five years ago.

Lost and found: A man in Rosaireville, NB was working in his garden when he stumbled upon a wedding ring in the dirt. Little did he know, the ring was lost 62 years ago. He was able to find the owner and it’s now been returned. We bring you the reunion tonight on
@CTV_Liveat5
I’m in Aulac, NB, hearing from truckers - who say they’re seeing improvements at the NB border. One trucker said he spent 4 hours at the border the first day of the Atlantic Bubble, now he’s getting through no problem - thanks to a dedicated trucker lane.

WATCH/READ: The Vancouver police say they’re investigating after not one but two suspicious fires appear to have been set in Stanley Park. As
@KWalkerNews
reports, these hot and dry conditions mean the risk of fire in the park is extreme.
A warning to drivers “expect delays” ahead of the Nova Scotia border. After the province declared a state of emergency, it was announced NS borders will tighten to travellers and all entry points (land, sea, air) will be closely managed.
Cleaning out my apartment today and found this. My very first demo tape (a literal tape) courtesy of
@ColinDMello
, who showed me the ropes and was an amazing mentor at
@CTVToronto
during my internship. It’s fun to look back at the memories 🎞
This man was caught on camera giving water to a homeless woman during one of his water delivery shifts. What he didn’t know, is that his random act of kindness was about to go viral. How helping the homeless goes a long way...tonight on

Sometimes we need a reminder that life is precious. A bone marrow transplant saved not one, but two members of this family. We’ll meet the Boudreau’s and hear their stories, coming up on
@CTV_Liveat5
So my birthday gift this year was Covid.
It may not have been what I had planned, but I thank my colleague
@thesmacleodshow
for this conversation on transparency & breaking down the stigma when it comes to this crazy virus.
There’s always next year.🎂😂
Tonight on
@CTV_Liveat5
we’ll give you a tour of the new & improved Shediac Foodbank. A new open concept allows families to shop around grocery store-style & less is gone to waste.
After years of waiting for a kidney donation...Dan McLaughlin finally got one. You may remember his creative call for help - that sticker has now successfully been removed! A story to tug your heartstrings... tonight on

5 years ago I stepped into my first ever on-air role, in radio. From learning proper broadcast delivery, how to train my voice, how to set the scene with audio - radio taught me skills I've carried with me in my TV & digital adventures. The (then 680 News) team also rocks.
NDP Leader

New Brunswickers will soon be able to get results of their COVID-19 tests much quicker - with an upgrade funded by the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation’s NB COVID-19 Emergency Fund.
This came up as a memory from 3 years ago today. My first ever attempt at a standup, as an intern for
@CTVToronto
. Shout out to
@ColinDMello
for being the best mentor to this rookie and showing me how it’s done!
