This is utter rubbish. Before top surgery, I met the surgeon twice to talk about what was involved, had to sign multiple consent forms, and they also checked before being anaesthetised that I knew what was going to happen. Rowling is spreading harmful nonsense. She needs to stop.

I've had a passport with the correct gender marker for a decade. There is no problem here apart from transphobia. The Daily Hate Mail can get stuffed.
Trans people have been able to change passports for years without a GRC. We told them that. Repeatedly. Yet here we are, day 1 of 2024 and the Tories are 'scared' of something they've only just discovered.
It also doesn't cause any issues or we would have heard about them by now
