Yesterday, I reviewed a paper. The data, in general, supported the claims. I felt I could not ask for any experiments. I just asked the authors to work a bit more on the presentation and discussion of the data. Perhaps the covid crisis will make us all more empathic reviewers.

Lo triste es que haya que inventar una Ley de la Ciencia para regular la contratación en nuestro sector. Transmite que vivimos en una realidad paralela, y que hemos asimilado como normal. Luego la ley podrá ser mejor o peor. Pero que lo actual es una chapuza magna, es evidente.

Re: the recent heated debate on mentorship. In my experience, good mentors: (a) genuinely care about other ppl shining besides themselves; (b) their wisdom is not science-centric; (c) don´t get trapped in the impact factor BS; and (d) don´t talk much about mentorship.
