Today is #MangaDay in Japan! It’s the anniversary of the passing of #OsamuTezuka, who is considered the father of manga. Kodansha published the Compendium of Osamu Tezuka’s Works, which contains works of his that have been cherished for generations, such as #AstroBoy.

Did you know it’s considered lucky if you dream about Mt. Fuji in your first dream of the New Year? That got us thinking about our painting showing Mt. Fuji from a villa that was owned by our first president, Seiji Noma! Here’s the painting and a photo from the same spot! The villa is called Kokeiso. It’s on a plateau on the west bank of the Fuji River. This painting was painted by the late Ikuo Hirayama, who was a famous Japanese painter. Its name is Gyoushun Tachibana Fuji, which means “Tachibana orange trees and Mt. Fuji in late spring”. #MtFuji #fujisan
