Very grateful for having shared this research, and many thanks to @Caballero01Eder and @MezaGordillo without their support the win it wouldn’t be possible. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Congratulations to @KMichelleC7 from @TecNM_MX on winning first place in the #LatinXChemGreen category.🏆We congratulate Karen on this remarkable achievement. Karen has won a 200USD voucher from @beyondbenign and a £250 book voucher from @green_rsc @RSC_Sus

@FZgroup_ @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. The part of the synthesis was complicated to manage due to the temperature of the exothermic reaction.

@AbadiaAgui89892 @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. The search for information is complicated since you have to find good information for a good job and I did not have many complications except for the tedious part of conductivity since it takes time to achieve thermal stability.

@Dani_Tipacamu @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. A quinone is a type of organic compound that is derived from the oxidation of phenols. Quinones contribute to the yellowing effect and indicate oxidative damage, which can affect both the appearance and structural integrity of the material.

@Enrique39517209 @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. I couldn't tell you anything yet because I'm still in tests.

@Rxsyta_E @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. My project was based on sustainability and that is why used vegetable oil is used to give a second life to a waste that can be put to good use.

@Emanueldlcs @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. In helping with a master's project I realized that polyurethane has many uses but we don't have much information about the degradation of this material.

@EscJonathan1415 @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. As always the search for good information to do a good job and the synthesis of the work was risky because of the exothermic nature of the reaction.

@Marielamumzo @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. I contributed to a master's thesis on making polyurethane foams using a vegetable source and we found it interesting to continue the research with used vegetable oil to learn more about the material.

@wiwizrdz @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. Controlling the temperature in the synthesis process was challenging due to being an exothermic reaction and in the testing process it was the evaluation of the degradation with the conductivity as it was a delayed process to reach thermal stability.

@LiliAguila56961 @LatinXChem The color change occurs due to the oxidation of the polyurethane surface by UV radiation, mainly attributed to the formation of quinones and other oxidation products.

@LiliAguila56961 @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. The mass loss of the foams is due to the oxidation processes of polyurethane, leading to the formation of volatile compounds, carbon dioxide, and carbon monoxide, among others.

@CarolinaOv3434 @LatinXChem Thank you very much for your comment and question. The effect on other quality parameters, mainly mechanical properties, remains to be determined.

@FZgroup_ @LatinXChem Thank you for your question. The most complicated part without a doubt was the synthesis, the creation of the polyol as it is an exothermic reaction and controlling the temperature was quite challenging.

@iqJeffleon @LatinXChem 3. So far, it has been possible to obtain a polyurethane with a thermal conductivity value suitable for use in thermal insulation, and whose UV degradation at 200 hours does not significantly influence it.
