If the government were willing to allow sound money like Bitcoin, they wouldn’t have abandoned the gold standard in the first place. This is a point many in the Bitcoin space fail to grasp. Inflation is a crucial tool for those who advocate for planned economies. For those who do support planned economies—which is a significant portion of the population—inflation is a key tool to expand and maintain control. Inflatable money enables the state to increase its influence—both militarily and economically. The power to manipulate currency through inflation is essential for the state to operate as it desires. For Bitcoin, or blockchain technology in general, to make a meaningful difference, people must take action. They need to demand financial sovereignty and an end to the state’s monopoly on money. By working and building on Bitcoin without first demanding financial sovereignty, we are merely creating systems the government will use to further enslave us. Blockchain and Bitcoin can’t free us—but YOU can.
